That's it then, folks. Another Football League season has come to end.

Thanks for your company throughout the past (nearly) 10 months.

Fear not though, football fans - something called Euro 2016 starts in less than two weeks.

Do be sure to follow BBC Sport throughout the tournament as England, Wales and Northern Ireland bid for glory in France. Then the Olympic Games ought to keep you occupied nicely too.

So then, what an afternoon this has been in AFC Wimbledon's short history! They're into the third tier for the first time.

They'll face clubs including Bolton, Charlton and, of course, Milton Keynes Dons next season.

Plymouth weren't at their best today and will have to go again next year in League Two.

It was cagey at first, but then AFC Wimbledon turned it on late on.

AFC Wimbledon's Paul Robinson tells Sky Sports: "He (Adebayo Akinfenwa) is a talisman for this club - I'm over the moon for him.

"We've taken it another step forward on the journey. We're looking forward to League One now."

Wimbledon's opening goal scorer Lyle Taylor tells Sky Sports: "I'm so pleased for all the boys.

"This happens for the first time once so, to be part of it, is absolutely brilliant."

Let's spare a thought for Plymouth, who have missed out on promotion via the play-offs for a second consecutive year.

Their wait to climb back up the football pyramid for the first time since back-to-back relegations in 2010 and 2011 goes on...

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley tells Sky Sports: "It's wonderful. The occasion for our fans was going to be enough in the first place, from where we've come from.

"But that second half, there was only one team going to win it - we were outstanding. The longer the game went on, the more likely we were going to win.

"They (the fans) deserve it - they had their club taken away from them 14 years ago - now look at them."

Adebayo Akinfenwa tells Sky Sports: "It's what dreams are made of. Scoring, winning. It's a beautiful feeling.

"We were the underdogs - it isn't only Leicester who can do it, we can do it too.

"There ain't no better way to leave this club. A sidebar - I think I'm now technically unemployed. So any managers, hit me up on Whatsapp and get me a job!"
