Chris Medwell: Can't wait for this, beat the Germans then Czech mate in the final. This team could win the next World Cup.

Stuart Chaplin: The night of the Euro 96 semi-final I flew to Australia. The captain told us the penalty result on the Tarmac at Heathrow!

Re-e-e-e-e-e-wind when the crowd say bo selecta-ta! A bit of post-1996 Craig David there just to prove that you haven't woken up in a previous era a la Sam Tyler in Life on Mars.

You are in 2016. Well, physically at least. Mentally and emotionally, we want you to be back in the summer of 1996.

A time when the weather was hot, the music was cool and a whole nation was excited by their football team. Happy days.

So join in the nostalgia. In fact, we insist. Tell us what you were doing then, feel free to send pictures too. We also want you to play along as if you've never seen this game before and tell us how you think it will all pan out. Tweet #euro96rewind to get involved.

How are your nerves? I'm more excited than I'll be when the Nintendo 64 hits the UK shops. The controller has an analogue stick in the middle you know!

Anyway... back to the 'real-life' football. We will be bringing you build-up from the legendary Des Lynam, Jimmy Hill, Alan Hansen and new Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit from 19:00 BST.

You can watch on the BBC Red Button or at the top of this page.

    Germany v England

A laboured draw against unfancied Switzerland hardly started England's campaign with a bang 18 days ago.

But the tubthumping win over the Auld Enemy, followed by the destroying of the Dutch, put El Tel and his boys back in the nation's good books.

Now Saturday's hide-behind-your-sofa shootout success against Spain leaves them just one more win away from meeting the Czech Republic in the final. A first final since 1966 and all that.

Please, please, please - and I think I speak on behalf of an entire nation - no more penalties tonight. Our heartrates won't take it. And the tears (of joy or despair) will ruin our facepaint.

Hello again. Glad you’ve tuned in. You’ve obviously heard there’s a football match tonight.

England. Germany. Wembley. Sound familiar? These two footballing heavyweights have traded more blows than Gallagher and Albarn in the NME.

This time, a place in the European Championship final is the prize. As if you need telling...

    "Disgracefool."

    "An oaf with no pride."

Little under four weeks ago, Gazza was public enemy number one in the eyes of the tabloids. And, if you believe the red tops, in the eyes of most of the nation too.

Sheringham, Ince and McManaman weren't far behind him after THAT trip to Hong Kong. The dentist chair. The 'Flaming Lamborghini' cocktails. The 'smashing up' of the plane on the way home...

Yet tonight, just 27 days later, these same drunken, sweat-soaked, shirt-ripped lads are national heroes.

They are one win away from the Euro 96 final.

They are two wins away from ending 30 years of hurt. Two wins from English sporting immortality.
