Philippe Coutinho lets fly from the edge of the Burnley box again. Do you need me to tell you what happened?

(His shot soared a long way over, again).

For the away team here to be 2-0 down given the possession they've had it's just incredible.

Time for a Liverpool change - Divock Origi is on for Daniel Sturridge.

Signs the Reds are getting frustrated as Jordan Henderson takes out Johann Berg Gudmundsson as he shields the ball.

Liverpool's possession is above 79% now, but still no way through. Burnley have only had 12 touches in the Reds' half since the break but they will not care while the scoreline stays the same.

  5. A penny for your thoughts, Jurgen?published at 61 mins

    Burnley 2-0 Liverpool

Liverpool have not failed to score in a Premier League game since 2 February but are short of inspiration in front of goal today.

What will Jurgen Klopp do about it?

Liverpool are still attacking and Philippe Coutinho is still shooting from distance but it is still not happening for either. Just over half an hour left for them to find a way back into this game.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 57 mins

    Burnley 2-0 Liverpool

Steven Defour's Burnley debut is over... he is being replaced by Johann Berg Gudmundsson. The £8m Belgian set up his side's second goal so I think he can be happy with his work today.

A bit of controversy here, almost, when James Milner fails to keep the ball in play with a desperate slide near the left touchline but the officials let the game continue. The home crowd whistle their disapproval but Liverpool's luck does not last because Daniel Sturridge scoops his shot over when the ball is sent into the Burnley area.

There is such a swirling wind and you don't know what is going to happen. It nearly catches Klaven out and Gray is looking incredibly sharp. He's having a great game.

    Burnley 2-0 Liverpool

This is more like it by Liverpool. This time, Roberto Firmino lets fly, and brings the save of the game from Tom Heaton. That was heading for the top corner.

The Reds have to be careful, mind. Just before that Firmino effort, Ragnar Klavan switched off and Andre Gray almost got in on goal.

Liverpool need to change it fairly quickly because they are 2-0 down and they haven't created enough chances. By the look of it Burnley have a level of comfort at the start of the second half.

As discussed, Philippe Coutinho had a bit of a stinker before the break. Has he improved? Yes, sort of... his latest shot from outside the area was on target for once today but was straight at Burnley keeper Tom Heaton.

A bit of a delay after Andre Gray is hurt in a collision with Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, but no treatment is needed. We are back under way, and the Reds have the ball again. In their own half at the moment.

This is familiar. Liverpool start the second half on the attack, and start by firing wide. Daniel Sturridge is the culprit this time, skewing his shot off target after finding a good position in the box.

The respective heat maps of the two teams tells you what the pattern of play was like in that first half. Liverpool (on the right) saw 78% of the ball and had 13 shots, but only two were on target and neither tested Tom Heaton.

Burnley, on the left, hardly got out of their half and only had two shots in total... but scored with both of them.
