A bit unfair Michael. We've not seen too much from the Chile international - he just fires an effort wide as I type this - but you always feel there's something there...

Beautiful cross from Riyad Mahrez looking for Jamie Vardy in the box - just too high though.

  4. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

These free-kicks which drift into the box under the keeper's nose without getting a touch on the way are fiendishly tricky to deal with.

Well played Kasper Schmeichel to judge the bounce and turn Santi Cazorla's  curling delivery behind.

From the corner, Laurent Koscielny thinks he's Zinedine Zidane in the 2002 Champions League final. Defender + volley = goal kick.

Arsenal are still feeling some discomfort when faced with the pace of Jamie Vardy but manager Arsene Wenger will be reasonably satisfied with how this is going so far.

The Gunners have had the more dangerous moments and have also been able to keep Leicester's other danger man Riyad Mahrez at arm's length.

Rob Holding showing a nice touch to collect an awkward pass and find an Arsenal shirt under pressure from the marauding Jamie Vardy. It's the best word for him.

Who says Arsenal need a centre-back?..

Granit Xhaka of Arsenal has been getting himself about, the graphic on the right is his touches so far.

For a comparison, on the left is Leicester's central midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

  8. CLOSE! (sort of)published at 26 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain cuts across the Leicester back four and curls an effort wide of Kasper Schmeichel's goal from just outside the box.

The Leicester stopper was sprawling but probably unnecessarily - it was safely heading wide. Still, we enjoyed the drama for a moment.

We're yet to see a shot on target - and that was the first effort of the game.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 23 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

Granit Xhaka (pronoucned Ja-kka) looks pretty tidy.

There's uproar from the Leicester fans as Francis Coquelin goes in late on Jamie Vardy - yellow to match his shirt.

  12. CHANCE!published at 18 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

Hector Bellerin gets his first gallop forward and there is real danger as Arsenal almost prise the Leicester back four apart.

Robert Huth falls over himself trying to track back but Wes Morgan comes to the rescue and stabs the Arsenal right-back's cross away.

    Alexis Sanchez was lurking...

Nampalys Mendy - Papy Mendy to his friends - has just levered Francis Coquelin over in midfield. Very little ceremony about that one from the man who would be N'Golo Kante.

Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez are all about those little balls into feet as they look for a chink of light in the Leicester back four. Nothing coming off yet though.

Leicester have got plenty of zip about their front end of course. Riyad Mahrez, quickest feet in the league? He buys himself a chance to cross - Nacho Monreal the seller - but booms it long.

More space for Arsenal to play a few passes in the Leicester half. There's no flies on the triangle of Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

So far it's more aesthetically pleasing than cutting edge.

"Jamie Vardy Is A Blue - He Hates Arsenal" - this is Leicester City fans' take on the striker's decision to reject a move to The Gunners.

Bit strong - maybe just didn't love Arsenal enough. Or loved Leicester more.

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

A slightly nervy punch out from Kasper Schmeichel sees Leicester pass up a chance to reclaim the ball.

Arsenal are looking to settle into possession  - but the home side are harrying. They work so hard.

Granit Xhaka with another chance to deliver from a set-piece - but his free-kick near the halfway line trundles safely behind the Leicester lines.

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

So no signs of Jamie Vardy suffering a mental block today playing against the club he turned down this summer.

He was straight out of the blocks from kick-off. My thoughts about the pace of this game have been proved right - so far. Intense. Granit Xhaka's corner is cleared away by the Leicester defence.

Played to change the angle and swung deep, long, Arsenal goal kick.

Rob Holding had his hands on Robert Huth in the box there - penalty shout after the two we saw in Stoke v Man City earlier?

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Leicester 0-0 Arsenal

The Leicester turf is a pretty picture - diamonds on the ground.

They're up for this! Jamie Vardy straight into the Gunners defence to win a corner.
