Marcus Rashford runs into the corner of the penalty area. Hull's players nervously retreat. Sensing his chance the youngster curls a superb low effort which Eldin Jakupovic dives full length to get a finger nail on it. Hull fans, meanwhile, will be biting theirs down to the quick.

Hull flicker into life at the other end of the pitch. Tom Huddlestone's daisy cutter takes a deflection off Eric Bailly which completely wrong foots David De Gea. The Hull fans behind the goal try to suck the ball into the net but it drifts just wide.

Pass, pass, pass from United but despite their huffing and puffing Hull's house will not be blown down. Wayne Rooney volleys from the edge of the box but it strikes the side-netting. A soaked Jose Mourinho claps his hands urging his charges forward.

Hull have their backs to the wall as United start to crank up the pressure. Still now way past that determined Tigers rearguard, though. Paul Pogba attempts a speculative effort from distance but it sails into the gleeful arms of the home fans behind the goal. 

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's flick from Paul Pogba's pass finds Juan Mata in a dangerous position only for the assistant referee to hoist his flag.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan replaces Anthony Martial with 30 minutes left to play. The travelling United fans respond with a ditty for the Armenian to the tune of Sting's 'Englishman in New York'.

Zlatan coming deeper now in an attempt to make something happen, but he can't find a way through an organised wall of amber-and-black shirts.
