Kay: When is Mouhrinho going to ditch Rooney??? Caught in possession twice in a minute..geeeez.

Francis Edwards: Inside15 minutes, I have seen Rooney lose the ball twice and slow the play down four times when dominating play. Get rid.

Nagarjuna: Rooney looks awful on the ball. His is the place that Mikhitaryan should be playing in.

    Hull 0-0 Manchester United

A clever ball into the box from Anthony Martial picks out the head of Ibrahimovic. But the Swede's glancing header goes just over the crossbar and drops on to the roof of the net fooling some of the United fans into thinking Zlatan had scored. Faux celebrations follow from the Hull fans on the other side of the divide.

    Hull 0-0 Manchester United

Besuited Hull boss Mike Phelan has a quick conflab with his coaching staff. An early tactical tweak on the pitch perhaps? Nope, he just wanted to find out who had a piece of chewing gum.

Ibrahimovic shows the kind of flexibility that made him a martial arts expert as he raises his leg at bizarre angle to almost provide an unorthodox opening in the Hull penalty area. The Tigers manage to clear the danger, though.

Just before kick-off Zlatan Ibrahimovic surveys all around him with a pensive look on his face, akin to a gun slinger in a spaghetti western. Just missing a bit of Ennio Morricone background music...

And we are now under way at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull can win. They are playing against the team I think will be fighting for the title this year.

Hull will work really hard and be in Manchester United's face in the whole game, what they have to do is concentrate. If they switch off, they will get beaten.

Hopefully those queues have eased off a bit now. The players are just making their way into the tunnel now. Hull skipper Curtis Davies puts a reassuring arm around a nervous mascot before shaking hands with opposite number Wayne Rooney. Not long until kick-off now.

While United manager Jose Mourinho has an abundance of riches to choose from, the cupboard is not quite so well stocked for Mike Phelan. He also makes no changes to his starting line-up, but perhaps more out of necessity than choice.

With a 100% start to the season it's no surprise Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has named an unchanged starting line-up from the one that beat Southampton 2-0.

  16. 'Phelan deserves the job'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 27 August 2016

Hull v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has certainly been impressed with what Mike Phelan has done as caretaker and reckons he deserves a crack at the job long term.

"He can handle the situation at Hull and the players are playing for him.

"He's done an incredible job so far. Mick's galvanised that team spirit. They've had a horrendous pre-season. They've got no squad and he's had kids on the bench.

"If you talk about someone who deserves the opportunity then it's Mick Phelan."

  17. Phelan good...published at 16:50 British Summer Time 27 August 2016

Hull v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

Two games, two wins. Mike Phelan is making this management lark look pretty easy.

Hull have been strongly tipped for relegation but despite having a threadbare squad they have a 100% Premier League record following wins over champions Leicester and Swansea. Manchester United, Jose Mourinho and co should offer a much sterner test for Hull at the KC Stadium.

But perhaps Phelan's inside knowledge on United might give him the upper hand? The 53-year-old, a former United player, was Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford until the legendary manager retired in 2013.

Phelan's had various assistant and caretaker roles since he left United and a win over his old employers would do his chances of landing the manager's job on a permanent basis no harm whatsoever.

United, meanwhile, will want to lay down another marker after back-to-back wins in their opening two fixtures against Southampton and Bournemouth.

Plenty of interesting subplots at the KCOM Stadium for today's tea time clash then. Something has got to give.
