It is looking like Stones is developing in the way we want. Finding a partner for him is key - is it Cahill, Jagielka or Smalling? I think Smalling makes a better partner.

James De Courcy: Rashford will be hounded by English media if he plays bad at all, leave him alone to develop.

zinctek:  I don't think he should play for England yet. To young. He will get burnt out by the time he is 23

Jon C: Rashford is the future for Utd & England - he will improve & learn this season

It doesn't matter what age you are. If you are good enough, which Rashford has proved he is, you should be in the England squad.

  5. 'Allardyce making a mistake with Rashford'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 28 August 2016

Daily Telegraph chief football correspondent Jason Burt: "Marcus Rashford makes a difference. He's impressed me with his temperament as well. He's fearless.

"Rashford was one of the few players who came out of Euro 2016 with any credit - he impressed people with England in training. Why's he now been discarded? It's a mistake. What's he done to not be in the England squad?

"He's a great talent, he's done nothing wrong. Going to the Under-21s is not a demotion but he should be in the full squad. If I was England manager I would want him in my first squad. He could have been in, have a look at him."

He's such a fantastic player. I am surpised he's not had more of a chance this year. His pace is absolutely frightening. You go back to the Euros. I want to see more of him. What an impact he had as a substitute yesterday.

Southampton and Sunderland drew to remain in search of their first Premier League wins of the season.

Black Cats striker Jermain Defoe opened the scoring, smashing in a penalty after being brought down by Jose Fonte.

Stand-in goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had an excellent game but was at fault for the equaliser, letting Jay Rodriguez's long-range shot squirm under his body.

Sunderland boss David Moyes said: "This is what you get with young goalkeepers. There are times they will make mistakes and you have to put up with it."

“Alan Pardew has spent a lot of money on attacking players and he has to get the best out of them. If they don’t then Alan Pardew will be under pressure.”

Scott Dann's injury-time equaliser gave Crystal Palace their first point of the season against Bournemouth.

The Eagles looked like falling to a third successive defeat before Dann headed home Jason Puncheon's cross to give them a deserved leveller.

Josh King gave the visitors an early lead when he finished well from Harry Arter's pass.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe said: "We ended up sinking very deep to try and protect what we had and that wasn't our wish but psychologically I think it's very hard to reverse that."

Ronald Koeman maintained his unbeaten start as Everton manager as his team beat a Stoke side that remain without a league win this season.

Stoke goalkeeper Shay Given pushed Leighton Baines' spot-kick on to a post but the ball then rebounded off Given's head and in.

"Two wins and one draw is very positive, but we can do much better and we need to improve in several aspects," said Toffees boss Ronald Koeman.
