    Man City 2-0 West Ham

City look very happy to see this out to half-time by making West Ham chase the ball. It is a bit like shining a torch on the wall and getting a kitten to dart after it.

Look at John Stones, the confidence he is playing with. He wants to receive the ball. With the ball and defensively he has looked very good.

golfpunter1234: Even at this early stage of the season it seems certain the title is Manchester-bound. Red or blue is the only issue in doubt

ViN: Man Utd will fade away?? I think they'll only get stronger.

Matthew Clarke: Isn't Augero playing ? he always scores against us.

West Ham are lucky that Adrian is sharp. David Silva plays a lovely ball into space behind the Hammers' defence and just for a second it looks like Sergio Aguero is away until the away keeper darts out to punt away.

    Man City 2-0 West Ham

West Ham enjoying a bit of the ball now, trying to fashion some way back into this game. City are content and competent enough to hold them at arms length.

Once the Hammers are done, the home side take over again for another of those intricate moves that threatens to rip the defence apart until James Collins' last-gasp sliding block.

Did I say Antonio Valencia earlier? Idiot. Mashing together Michail Antonio and Enner Valencia like some sort of football Dr Frankenstein. He's aliiiiiiiive... but still has no consistent end product.

The danger for West Ham is when they attack they leave so many gaps at the back and the pace of City on the attack is frightening.

Andre Gwilliam: What was Bilic doing dropping Sam Byram?! He has the legs to actually man mark players.

Richard Parfitt: City look good but I'd still fancy getting them on the counter if I was West Ham.

Fahad Kahn: Man Utd will fade away. Chelsea and Man City to wrestle it out for the title. Guess who'll finish fourth ?

Great movement from David Silva and Nolito down the left-hand side. Carbon copy of the first goal. Kevin de Bruyne should have scored.

Ooooo, that's a bad miss. Kevin de Bruyne is at the very end of a rapid, incisive City move from back to front but somehow pokes David Silva's pull-back past the near post.

It was a move that deserved a goal.

Ashley Fletcher looks to have a bit about him. He is sharp enough to latch on to a forward ball in the City box but his shot lacks accuracy.

West Ham come again soon after but Michail Antonio is denied by a superb sliding tackle from Nicolas Otamendi. The resulting corner is clawed away from the box by Willy Caballero.

West Ham's best period of play, this.

John Stones has taken a trailing boot to the knee from Angelo Ogbonna that leaves the England man grimacing and in need of some treatment. He should be OK.

Another City centre-back (who is injured), Vincent Kompany, watches on from the stands. He's on babysitting duty as well it would seem. That'll teach him to stay fit!

It's as if West Ham are playing with 10 men against 14 men. If City carry on like this it could be five or six.

Darren Bennett: Man City and Chelsea looking the most impressive for the title so far.

Gopal Gautam: If this was a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it by now.

Adam Jones: I know they've got a lot of injuries and they're playing Man City, but this West Ham team look poor.

That. Was. Close. Kevin de Bruyne sends a sharply-sipping effort over the wall and just a yard over Adrian's goal.

Nolito is caught high by Michail Antonio right on the edge of the area. There'll be plenty of candidates who fancy this...

We are 25 minutes in and you can clearly see Manchester City's dominance and how much of the ball they have had in the West Ham half (left graphic).

On the other side, the Hammers have barely had a touch of the ball in the opposition half.

Arthur Masuaku is stomping around on the thinnest of ice. He has already been booked, blunders into Sterling on the right and is very, very lucky not to be booked again. Now he has to face an in-form rapid Sterling for the rest of this game and keep on the right side of the ref. Good luck with that lad.

West Ham can't get the ball with 11 men, never mind 10. I think Slaven Bilic will be looking at that. One more challenge from Arthur Masuaka and he could be off.

That is an unbelievable ball from Kevin de Bruyne. He smashed it in with a whip and pace into a dangerous area. It was a great header and I don't think Adrian saw it.

Not one West Ham player is in contact with a Man City player. It allows them to get a run on them. Perhaps we will see more goals with this new directive.
