Poor Jurgen Klopp. It seems every time he celebrates a goal like an animal his glasses end up somewhere on the Anfield turf.

    Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain at Anfield for BBC Radio Leicester

Nathaniel Clyne is having an absolute field day, Liverpool look sharp and Christian Fuchs is being overran at left-back – it isn’t his fault, he’s just outnumbered.

All said and done Claudio Ranieri will feel absolutely relieved that Leicester are still in this, because it looked ominous.

Benny: Beautiful in attack, comical in defence. Just another week at Liverpool.

Matt Harding: Klopp's been given an easy ride by Liverpool fans so far. Yet they came 8th under him & he's playing Milner and Lucas in defence!

Gerrardinho: Have I been watching this Liverpool side for 3 years? Excellent attack, the kind of defending that could be used as a punchline

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City

    Well, that was interesting.

Liverpool should be home and hosed.

They're not, and Leicester had anew-found confidence at the end of that half.

Has Kasper Schmeichel handled this out of the area?

He chases a long ball and gets a touch... nope, it's hit his chest. Good keeping.

BtheG: That is the simplest goal Vardy will ever get.

Johnny Magrinho: Wow, that was beyond bad, that was catastrophic.

Alex Taylor: Shocking from Lucas - highlights Liverpool's lack of depth in defence. Hope this isn't a turning point!

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 42 mins

    Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City

What on earth is going on?

Leicester, dead and buried, are inches away from equalising.

Christian Fuchs ploughs a long throw into the area and Robert Huth's ample head loops it on to the top of the crossbar.

Simon Mignolet looked all at sea.

Lucas, as we mentioned, is not a specialist centre-half…

    Jamie Vardy

Oh Lucas. You've had a mare. An absolute mare.

The Brazilian should be happy Danny Baker doesn't make his own goals and gaffes videos any more.

The makeshift centre-back is under pressure from Shinji Okazaki deep in his own area and then mis-touches, before trying to poke the ball across to his keeper.

Instead he just rolls it to Jamie Vardy to knock in from five yards.

    Comical stuff.

    Liverpool 2-0 Leicester City

Two goals in three Premier League games for Sadio Mane - looking like a decent bit of summer business.

Another summer signing, Georginio Wijnaldum tries to loop one in from 20 yards, but it's not troubling the Leicester goal.

Mark Duffell: A goal so good Klopp lost his glasses. Again. Happens so often, surely it needs its own hashtag.

lfcway: Sturridge and Mane. Could be a great partnership. Pace pace pace! Boom.

Paul Worthington: Just like watching Brazil.

I take it Paul means a Brazil side of a vintage other than World Cup 2014...

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 36 mins

    Liverpool 2-0 Leicester City

After all that, Leicester make a change, although it looks enforced rather than tactical as Danny Simpson seems to have taken a knock and is replaced by Luis Hernandez at right-back.

  14. 'Liverpool well worth lead'published at 18:04 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Liverpool 2-0 Leicester City

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain at Anfield for BBC Radio Leicester

Leicester City are at sixes and sevens. They’ve been stretched and pulled and torn apart. Liverpool are exposing them and capitalising on them with some quality play.

You have to say that Liverpool are well worth this lead.

GOAL - Liverpool 2-0 Leicester Citypublished at 31 mins

    Sadio Mane

Speaking of video-game football - this could be taken straight off the PlayStation.

Jordan Henderson clips a ball over the top and Leicester are chasing shadows.

Daniel Sturridge is first on to it down the right channel of the area and he lays it off with a beautiful backheel, straight into the path of Sadio Mane who clips it past the keeper.

Jurgen Klopp is starting to make a tradition of losing his glasses with his celebrations - I hope they're not designer (bet they are though).

  16. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Leicester City

The Anfield faithful sense Leicester's jugular is exposed and are willing their side on every time they pick up the ball.

Leicester, meanwhile, are struggling to string two passes together.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 29 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Leicester City

First booking of the game goes in the Leicester column.

Daniel Amartey arrives about three weeks too late with his challenge on Georginio Wijnaldum.

    Liverpool 1-0 Leicester City

    Matt Elliott

That's a good save from Kasper Schmeichel, well done. But that could have been extremely costly for Leicester there. It all looks a bit of a jumble at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Leicester City

Just before that Leicester skipper Wes Morgan landed heavily clearing the ball - he looked a tad winded. It seems he's OK.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 27 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Leicester City

Kasper Schmeichel somehow gets a hand to Daniel Sturridge's pointblank effort after a lovely bit of combo work from Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana.

    Leicester survive.
