"A frustrating opening period for Hearts. They have been unable to command the game, being wasteful in possession and struggling to break in behind the Birkirkara back-line. The visitors have been more willing to attack than in the first leg, but Hearts should still be in front since Prince Buaben ought to have converted his penalty kick. 

"Hearts have enough talent and threat to win this tie, but they need to raise their game, take more advantage of the width of their team, and try to get Nicholson and Walker onto the ball more often."

With extra time looming, Hibs are really hanging on, fending off wave after wave of attacks. Johan Larsson skips past John McGinn on the right side of the box and curls a shot towards the far corner but Ross Laidlaw gets fingertips to it - a fantastic save.

Former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki gets the wrong side of the Hibs defence and takes a tumble under pressure from Darren McGregor. The Brondby man went down very easily and the home fans are screaming for a red card but it's just a booking for the big defender.

The free-kick is easily stopped by Ross Laidlaw.

Faycal Rherra, with a burst of pace and intent, almost makes the breakthrough for Hearts. Bursting forward from left-back, he surges into the area then steers a shot across goal and just wide.
