    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

More exhaustion than inspiration? John McGinn has a pot shot from deep inside his own half, having spotted the keeper off his line. The ball drifts well off target.

    Edward Herrera

Is that game over for Hearts? A second goal for Birkirkara, Edward Herrera ghosting in on the right to shoot between Jack Hamilton's legs.

Three goals required now, with time running out...

I wouldn't fancy sitting next to Hibs boss Neil Lennon in the stand tonight. He must be kicking every ball up there since he is serving a touchline ban. Chairman Rod Petrie might have sore shins.

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

Lovely stuff from John McGinn as he glides away from three players in a tight situation and drives forward to draw a foul in the opposition half.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Hearts 0-1 Birkirkara

Almost an instant reaction from Hearts. Sam Nicholson skips infield from the left and rattles a shot off the crossbar. Juanma has been brought on to add to the home side's attacking options.

  7. Postpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

Half time in extra time comes as Brondby goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow confidently clutches a corner. It's been even, with both teams looking pretty knackered. Are we on for penalties?

  8. goal

GOAL Hearts 0-1 Birkirkarapublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Christian Bubalovic

Huge setback for Hearts. The ball drops to Christian Bubalovic inside the area and he lashes the ball into the corner of the net. The home side need two goals now...

Marvin Bartley has been a rock in midfield for Hibs but he's run out of steam. Jordon Forster slots into central defence and Paul Hanlon will step into a more advanced role.

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

Play is stretched as legs tire but 35-year-old striker Grant Holt is still going strong up front for Hibs. Will the big man get a sight of goal tonight?

  11. Postpublished at 98 mins

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

Some of the Hibs players are breathing hard now. The Danes are a few weeks ahead in terms of fitness, with their league campaign kicking off last weekend.

In all the excitement I forgot to tell you that James Keatings is on for Jason Cummings, Hibs making the change in stoppage-time.

    Hearts 0-0 Birkirkara

The action resumes at Tynecastle. Will Hearts find a way through in the second half?

  13. Postpublished at 94 mins

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

The ball falls kindly to John McGinn some 25 yards out and he has thoughts of crashing in a spectacular winner. Unfortunately, his first-time strike sails high over the target.

  16. Extra-time in Denmarkpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

FT: Brondby 0-1 Hibernian (agg: 1-1)

We'll get another 30 minutes in Copenhagen as Hibs survive a late onslaught.

A few leg rubs for the weary looking visitors, while the hosts get a ticking off from an angry looking manager.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Hearts 0-0 Birkirkara

    Richard Wilson
    BBC Scotland at Tynecastle

"A frustrating opening period for Hearts. They have been unable to command the game, being wasteful in possession and struggling to break in behind the Birkirkara back-line. The visitors have been more willing to attack than in the first leg, but Hearts should still be in front since Prince Buaben ought to have converted his penalty kick.

"Hearts have enough talent and threat to win this tie, but they need to raise their game, take more advantage of the width of their team, and try to get Nicholson and Walker onto the ball more often."

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 89 mins

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

With extra time looming, Hibs are really hanging on, fending off wave after wave of attacks. Johan Larsson skips past John McGinn on the right side of the box and curls a shot towards the far corner but Ross Laidlaw gets fingertips to it - a fantastic save.

  19. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Brondby 0-1 Hibernian

Former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki gets the wrong side of the Hibs defence and takes a tumble under pressure from Darren McGregor. The Brondby man went down very easily and the home fans are screaming for a red card but it's just a booking for the big defender.

The free-kick is easily stopped by Ross Laidlaw.

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:42 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Hearts 0-0 Birkirkara

Faycal Rherra, with a burst of pace and intent, almost makes the breakthrough for Hearts. Bursting forward from left-back, he surges into the area then steers a shot across goal and just wide.
