  2. How to make a £100m transfer dull...published at 14:35

Congratulations to Manchester United and Paul Pogba for making history this summer. They are now officially involved in the most boring £100m transfer saga of all time.

It feels like years that we've known the 23-year-old Juventus and France midfielder is going to join United, although it's only been a few weeks apparently.

Former United midfielder Bryan Robson feels it will be a "very good signing". He told BBC Radio 5 live: “People are going to say [negatively] it’s £100m. If you’re making £300m, £400m in the commercial department, why not spend it on players because it’s really important United win Champions Leagues, win the title, and are successful.

“The player who I think he is very similar to is Yaya Toure at Manchester City. Very good going forward, can score spectacular goals."

  4. 'It will never be finally decided who has won the football'published at 14:31

I say the season starts here but obviously the EFL kicked off yesterday. Well actually on Friday night, Fulham beat Newcastle in the Championship opener.

And British teams have been playing in Europa League and Champions League qualifiers since 28 June. And Euro 2016 didn't end until 10 July. And there's some football on at the Olympics.

As That Mitchell and Webb Look, external told us in one of the great TV comedy sketches: "The football is officially going on forever."
