So have Manchester City finally got the man to bring the big one to the club's trophy room for the first time?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on adjusting to last night's postponement: "Everyone went home to sleep with their families. Today we met again in the morning, a training session. Breakfast, lunch, ready to play.

"In our session this morning David Silva had a little problem. He didn't feel good and had a few problems. It wouldn't have been a big risk but we decided to leave him out."

On Ilkay Gundogan's debut: "It's his debut, of course he needs minutes and it's an important game but we have a problem with Fernando so we will use him as soon as possible.

"They are a very good team. Big talent. Their midfield has lots of quality, high pressing, of course it's a German team, they are physically strong, fast in the counter attacks."

  8. 'Very proud'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 14 September 2016

Club Brugge v Leicester (19:45 BST)

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, on BT Sport: "I am very proud. Leicester, for the first time in the Champions League. Finally arrived the match. It's good for us to see what we can do in this competition. There is something different but we cannot change our face, our way. We are solid, strong, we have to play our football.

"[Islam Slimani] is in good condition, he trained very well with Sporting Lisbon and then he was with us three or four days. I want to see tonight.

"[Danny Simpson] was ready but I don't want to risk him because it is not possible to lose him for a long period. Every six days we have to play."

    Tottenham v Monaco (19:45 BST)

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "We have a very strong squad, every player can be picked but I can only put 11 on the pitch. It was very good for Son to score twice at Stoke.

"It will be a fantastic opportunity to show how big Tottenham is. There will be 90,000 fans here, the biggest in England.

"It is the first time in our history that we have played a home game here but we will try to enjoy it. Our matchday routine has been the same as White Hart Lane. We try to keep it the same."

Peter Crouch may be at Stoke City now but he is here at Wembley in spirit tonight as the giant screens show his winner in the 1-0 victory against AC Milan in the San Siro in the last-16 tie in February 2011.

Spurs secured their place in the last eight with a goalless draw at White Hart Lane - but it did not end so well for Crouchy as he was sent off only 14 minutes into the quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid at The Bernabeu as they lost 4-0.

His record will give Foxes fans hope that he can guide Leicester out of their group. The Italian has taken his team into the knockout phase four times in five attempts.

Ranieri's best run in the competition was leading Chelsea to the semi-finals in 2004.

    Unbelievable sleeves action

Wearing football shirts a size too big was fashionable the last time Leicester played in Europe.

They were knocked out by Red Star Belgrade in the first round of the Uefa Cup back in 2000, losing 4-2 on aggregate.

I loved the Leicester team of that era for some reason. I once went to a hairdressers with a picture of Steve Guppy and asked for his haircut. As I've never asked for anything different since, I've technically still got a Guppy cut today.

There is a buzz about Spurs and the club have to build on that by putting in the performances and qualify for the Champions League again.

If they can do that consistently and then move into a new, bigger stadium, then the future could be really exciting.

Let's not forget that Arsenal played a few games at Wembley in the Champions League, the visiting teams enjoyed the surroundings, the surface, and Arsenal had their backsides handed to them a few times. It's a different style of football and Spurs cannot be gung-ho.

It's not the first time a Premier League side has taken up residency at Wembley for their Champions League home games.

Arsenal moved to the national stadium for two Champions League campaigns in 1998 and 1999, but it didn't work out particularly well for them - they won just two of their six games.
