  1. Hampden not seeing a classicpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Scotland 0-0 England

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Hampden Park

Half-time. No goals. No classic. The image of the first half was a mum carrying her young - and very fast asleep - child down the steps and away from their seat five minutes before the break.

    Azerbaijan 0-0 Northern Ireland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

Azerbaijan have had more of the possession but have done little with it. I would love to see Northern Ireland offer more going forward,. The first goal is going to be vital.

Gareth McAuley going off injured is a big loss, not just as a defender but also his threat at set pieces.

  3. England win Seniors World Cuppublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Good enough = old enough

The youngsters have a chance of making history on Sunday, but the oldies showed them how to do it on Saturday.

England lifted the Seniors World Cup in Thailand after beating Iran 2-0 in the final. Former Swansea striker Lee Trundle was on the scoresheet for the Three Lions.

I don't want to speak too soon but the referee has had a good game so far.

He is clearly aware there is a bit if a derby atmosphere and wants to just let the game play out.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Scotland 0-0 England

To paraphrase Sven Goran-Eriksson, first half good, second half not so good on the entertainment stakes.

The more the half wore on the more control England had. They should probably be ahead.

Scotland had run out of legs but they still carry a slight threat.

  8. CLOSE!published at 43 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

England ending the half well on top now, piling on pressure and stretching the play down both wings. Eventually Harry Kane plays the ball back to Jake Livermore on the edge of the box and his powerful, swerving shot gets Craig Gordon in trouble and he clumsily punches the ball over the top.

Livermore is then booked for a rash tackle on halfway.

Chris Brunt whips in the whippiest of left-wing crosses that cuts the daises and Liam Boyce and Josh Magennis are within inches of getting the final touch it needs to put it in.

That is much more positive from Lallana - perhaps he should have shot across the goalie but at least he has got a shot.

Frustrating to watch from Scotland. Scott Brown does well to take the ball from Dele Alli but when he plays the ball to James Morrison the West Brom man hits a panicky ball forwards which is easily cut out. He had space to run in to!

England then craft an opening on the left and after Adam Lallana sells a lovely dummy he hits a swerving shot into the side-netting. Good play!

Scotland lose the ball and all of a sudden Dele Alli breaks away, he has green grass in front of him. He carries it on, Marcus Rashford is tearing up on the overlap but Alli's pass is not immaculate, the Manchester United man can't run on to it and the chance is gone.

    A waste.

A totally different game now to the opening 15-20 minutes. A more recognisable England game. Less exciting.

Lots and lots of possession. Not much in the final third. Scotland seem to have almost no attacking plan. Leigh Griffitths is very isolated.

The three subs for Scotland will be very important, more for injecting energy than skill to be honest.

England having loads of the ball now. Almost down to walking pace in midfield with Jake Livermore, Eric Dier and Dele Alli pulling the strings.

It's 71% possession for the visitors now in fact. Now that early momentum has wilted, have Scotland got the game to hurt England?

England have got a massive height advantage on Scotland and they are playing short corners...

  19. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

Great effort! Craig Gordon comes out of his area to meet Eric Dier's ball over the top, a nice idea but he can only head the ball to Harry Kane.

He must be 35+ yards out, on the left wing, but Kane manages a really good effort, chipping it on target and heading in until Kieran Tierney heads it off the line.

Marcus Rashford picks up the pieces but his shot is deflected wide.

This is the possession we expected from England now.
