Scotland supporters have been allowed to take bagpipes into Sunday's World Cup qualifying match in Slovenia.

The reversal of an earlier decision not to allow bagpipes follows negotiations between the Scottish FA and their Slovenian counterparts.

Drums will not be permitted inside the Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana.

Around 4,000 Scotland fans have travelled for the match, with Gordon Strachan's side in contention for a World Cup play-off place.

Victory over Srecko Katanec's team would secure second place in Group F and one of the eight play-off slots.

BBC Sport chief football writer in Vilnius

The downpour that has enveloped Vilnius all day continues and England will face difficult conditions on the artificial surface here in Lithuania.

England's goalkeepers are out in the rain to test the surface, with Stoke City's Jack Butland getting his opportunity as he wins only his sixth cap, five years after is international debut.

Harry Winks and Harry Maguire will not care about the weather or the surface as they make their England debuts.

Scotland keeper Craig Gordon says missing out on Euro 2008 a decade ago will spur him on as the team seek the win over Slovenia that would ensure a World Cup play-off.

Gordon was part of Alex McLeish's side beaten by Italy at Hampden in 2007 and Scotland have not been at a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.

"I thought there might be many more opportunities to come at that stage - but there haven't been," he said.

"It is a big moment to try and grasp."

  5. Can Harry deliver again?published at 16:06 British Summer Time 8 October 2017

Gareth Southgate gave the captain's armband to Harry Kane and the striker repaid him, scoring England's stoppage-time winner against Slovenia on Thursday.

Can he do the business again tonight? He will captain the side again.

James Forrest and James Morrison drop out after Thursday's 1-0 win over Slovakia, with James McArthur and Chris Martin coming in.

It looks like an old-fashioned 4-4-2, something of a rarity in international football.

Scotland XI: Gordon, Tierney, Berra, Mulgrew, Robertson, Phillips, McArthur, Fletcher, Bannan, Griffiths, Martin.

I spoke with Jack Butland yesterday and he said matches now should be viewed " as an audition for plane tickets for next summer".

It's his first start for England since he fractured his right ankle in March 2016.

There are also debuts for Harry Maguire and Harry Winks with England playing in a 3-4-3 formation.

I also spoke with Harry Kane about Winks, who says "he's really down to earth, a fantastic player, both feet - technically he's got everything as a midfielder you'd want".

It's a bit more straightforward tonight when it comes to automatic qualification.

England and Germany have already won their groups so it's just Poland or Demark to wrap up Group E.

In Africa, Egypt are there if they beat Congo.

With England already qualified and with nothing to play for it's a chance for Gareth Southgate to mix and match.

With only four points from their first four matches, few were rushing to back Scotland to reach Russia.

But victory over Slovenia, a draw with England and wins against Lithuania and Malta put them back in the hunt for a first World Cup appearance since 1998.

Scotland's destiny is now in their own hands after a late winner against Slovakia on Thursday lifted them into second in the group. Victory in Slovenia would clinch a play-off spot.
