That's it from us on a day of Scottish disappointment, Northern Irish progress and England being, well, England.
There's a little dust-up in Cardiff tomorrow night. Join us then.
So, Northern Ireland face a wait to see not only who qualifies as the other seven best second-placed teams, but also if they will be seeded in the draw. The draw for the play-offs is on 17 October and the ties will be played between 9 and 14 November.
More from Michael O'Neill: "The main thing was to get through without suspension and now we have a massive game in November.
"We can't be greedy. We'll be up against some great teams and we'll have to deal with whatever comes.
"You may play a good team if you're seeded. It's unlikely we will be seeded, but we still have a chance to get to Russia.
"We're punching above our weight and have done for a long time. The squad has been stretched, so the players deserve credit."
Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill on Sky Sports: "The Scotland result took tension out of the situation. It wasn't possible to have two different teams in mind.
"At times we played good football, at times we were off. It's a positive that the lads on bookings got through.
"The main thing was to be in the play-offs, and that was confirmed before we started.
"Chris was in a difficult situation for the goal. You're always disappointed when you lose and it would have been nice to get a clean sheet."
Unsurprisingly, Germany held on to win 5-1 against Azerbaijan despite a gutsy first half performance from the underdogs.
Czech Republic also recorded a routine 5-0 win over San Marino, meaning the visitors have still not picked up a single point in qualifying.
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
By my reckoning, and this is very sketchy, Northern Ireland could do with Republic of Ireland pipping Wales and Ukraine doing the same to Croatia. If that happens, they would be ranked in the top four of the eight teams in the play-offs.
I could have got that horribly wrong, though...

When you look at who is going to be in the final lot, there isn't too many to worry about apart from Portugal.
I don't care if it is a seeded team or a non-seeded team. It will be a hell of a night. We just need that luck in the draw.
I think if somebody had sat down before the game and said 'you will be guaranteed a seeded place if you win tonight', the approach may have been different.
But it's a crazy set-up.
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland are fifth in the table of second-placed teams. Where they finish in that will not have a bearing on their seeding in the play-offs draw, that will be down to world rankings. Slovakia squeezing in hasn't done them any favours.

It was a sloppy game won by an even sloppier goal, but we will forget about that because we can concentrate on the play-offs.
The most important thing is that we're not missing anybody through silly yellow cards. I am looking forward to it so much!
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Not that it matters. Norway have won it and Northern Ireland's group-stage campaign ends with a defeat. Importantly, they come through without anyone getting booked, so no one will be suspended for the play-offs. But where will this leave them in the seedings?
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Norway think it's two, but the flag is up. Alex Soderlund can't believe it. Offside? Did that come off a white shirt?
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Save! Tarik el Younoussi from the edge of the box, Michael McGovern flinging himself to his right to beat it away. The follow-up shot comes in, but it's well wide. The ball is in the wrong part of town for Northern Ireland.

That was a great touch by Kyle Lafferty to send him away on the left-hand side but there was nobody in the box to get a foot on the ball.
There was a lack of effort and energy to get on the end of it.

Three minutes added on...
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Anywhere will do for Norway. This is Northern Ireland's longest period of sustained pressure. Shane Ferguson on the left, his pass right across the face of goal, but no one in a white shirt is buying a raffle ticket.
Elsewhere in Europe, Germany have extended their lead over Azerbaijan and now comfortably lead 5-1.
It's also five for Czech Republic as they have yet to concede against San Marino and lead 5-0.
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Remember, Northern Ireland are in the play-offs regardless of this result. Scotland's draw in Slovenia saw to that. Getting something here might boost the Northern Irish world ranking, though. All important for those seedings...

Oh dear me!
The corner looked like it had beaten everybody and then George Saville just leaned back when he hit it.
He just needed to get his knee over it and he would have buried it!
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Huge chance! George Saville somehow hits the roof of the stand from the edge of the six-yard box. Another Northern Ireland corner, nodded down into Saville's path. Loads of time, but he's leaning back and puts it miles over. Northern Ireland's best opportunity.
Norway 1-0 Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland corner on the right, but headed clear by a red shirt. Then comes a long throw from the left, with Steven Davis' shot blocked. Some urgency.
