Philippe Coutinho
Superb, superb, superb. Liverpool double their lead with another moment of magic. Philippe Coutinho collects Sadio Mane's pass in the left channel of the Albion box, dragging the ball back inside the sliding challenge of Craig Dawson. The Brazilian keeps his composure to slot inside the near post. Brilliant.
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
Tony Pulis is clearly audible barking out the orders from the touchline. No mean feat in a stadium of 50,000 people. Don't concede another will be the gist of it...
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
Oh no! Albion midfielder Claudio Yacob goes backwards and cheaply gives possession away. Emre Can snaffles that like a hungry dog pouncing on a treat, feeding Adam Lallana whose rising shot goes into the Anfield Road end.
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
Get your foot on the ball! Is what my Sunday League manager would be shouting if I was a West Brom player. Tony Pulis might be doing the same. Albion struggling for a kick at the moment.

The Optimist: Adam Lallana is England's most technically gifted player since Paul Gascoigne.

Now then stat fans - here's one for you...
Roberto Firmino has had a hand in 17 goals (12 goals, 5 assists) for Liverpool in the Premier League in 2016. That's more than any other Reds player.

This is a real testing time for Albion now.
You are always under this pressure when you come to Anfield. There is something about this place. They put you under pressure and you've got to absorb it and be strong.
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
Ooooh by 'eck! Cricket legend Geoffrey Boycott would be pleased. Liverpool go down the footballing equivalent of Sir Geoff's 'corridor of uncertainty' as Nathanial Clyne slides a cross between Albion keeper Ben Foster and his defence. Emre Can dives in with an outstretched boot, but he needs to be a shoe size bigger to reach it. Let off for Albion.
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
So what's Tony Pulis's masterplan now? Baggies know how to cause some problems from a set piece and they have a chance here. The big lads go up but James McClean's free-kick from a deep position on the right is poor. Liverpool clear.

Jay: What a move that was!
Sean Yap: Beautiful goal! Mane looks a steal!!
Brent the Cynic: Perfectly measured pass by Firmino, great composed finish by Mane. Wonderful goal to watch by #LFC
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
This could be carnage now. Liverpool need to win by two goals (or more) to go top of the Premier League remember.

Albion were sliced apart at times during that move. That's a gift for Sadio Mane at the back post. After the good start they have had, that's a poor goal to give away.
It was the dummy by Coutinho that gave that away. Too easy I think.
Mane is one that you have got to keep your eye on. He finds gaps and is nippy. This is exactly what Albion didn't want - to go 1-0 down early. They have got to make sure they don't go two down or it really will be an uphill battle.
Sadio Mane
Breakthrough. And you can't say it hasn't been coming. Liverpool take the lead in the blink of an eye.
Phil Coutinho's dummy lets Emre Can loose, the lanky German finding Roberto Firmino on the left flank. The top-knotted Brazilian dinks over the head of Baggies left-back Nyom and Sadio Mane is there to convert with a cool finish past Ben Foster.
Liverpool 0-0 West Brom
This would have silenced the booing Baggies fans. James Milner ghosts into the Albion box, rising highest to meet Jordan Henderson's inswinger from the right. But Milner can't keep his effort down and Albion survive.
Liverpool 0-0 West Brom
Headway for the Reds down the right flank, but Albion man-mountain Jonas Olsson is well placed to block the cross. The Swede would head away stones if they were being flung at him.
Liverpool 0-0 West Brom
James Milner is getting plenty of stick from the away fans. Presumably because of his Villa links? Can't see it bothering the Yorkshireman. He's the sort of bloke that wouldn't even be annoyed by being given gravy instead of mushy peas at the chippy.

Albion have had a few half decent balls into Liverpool's penalty area which is positive. People say the Baggies are only dangerous from set pieces but there is no difference as from open play as long as you get the balls into the area.
Liverpool 0-0 West Brom
Half a chance for Albion. Quick break from Nacer Chadli who finds Matt Phillips on his shoulder. He tries to pick out Salomon Rondon, but a swarm of Red shirts crowd out the Baggies striker.
Liverpool 0-0 West Brom
Jordan Henderson. Discuss? He's growing on me. The Liverpool skipper is everywhere at the moment, popping up more often than a Whack-A Mole down at your local amusement arcade.
