Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany: "I will use my experience to get through the day, I am excited. There are no easy games in the Premier League.

"I have had no pre-season but you have to start somewhere and I am confident. We have been playing well, we are just conceding with every mistake we make at the moment."

Captain and centre-back Vincent Kompany makes his first league start of the season. Striker Sergio Aguero is back in the starting XI.

Hopefully, for City fans they won't need a little bit of time to wake up...

So what does Lawro think the outcome will be?

Southampton look very solid at the back and do not seem to make too many mistakes. At the other end, Charlie Austin is going through the sort of spell where he cannot miss.

City's defeat by Barcelona means they have now gone four games without a win in all competitions, but they were still top of the league going into the weekend.

Some people might be painting it as a crisis but it really isn't.

The win is definitely a step in the right direction for West Ham. To win it at that stage of the match is massive for them and it relieves the pressure greatly and takes out the stigma of winning games in the new stadium.

"You didn't expect Petr Cech to be the busier goalkeeper of the two. He is the best goalkeeper in the league and has been for five years.

"I have had the privilege of working with him (at Chelsea) and class him as a good mate. He stayed big and kept Arsenal in the match, which was quite strange."

On Middlesbrough's Victor Valdes: "I was pleasantly surprised with Victor Valdes. He had one of his best games for Middlesbrough so far.

"He has been out injured but he came out and dominated his area which is a surprise, I've never seen him do that before."

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley told BBC Sport: "The second half was strong and we came out right from the beginning looking for a goal. It didn't happen but there are a lot of positives.

"It was important to get a clean sheet and the play from our centre halves was solid as Deeney and Ighalo are difficult to play against. This is a step we can build on.

"I think the team we picked today made sense. There is disappointment for sure, but a shared feeling of an all-round good effort."
