Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "If we want to be contenders, we need to win games like these.

"It was a very competitive game, they were ready to compete and it was tough. We managed the whole game, but if you don't score it is difficult to win. We fought loads and it is one point more and a clean sheet."

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka: "It was an amazing performance from my team especially after the last defeat at home.

"For me, it is good if you come here and their best player is Cech.

"We have to keep going, keep working and we have shown we can compete with the best teams in the Premier League.

"I said I did not want to panic the boys but they have quality players and we have to defend. We were organised, the transition was good and this team and fans deserve to live these moments.

"Every single game in the Premier League is important. It is good to enjoy it for a few hours but it will be back to work tomorrow for the Bournemouth game. We need as many points as possible.

"We have to grow, we have to learn for experience. Once again, adding this kind of point and to see this team performance is pleasing."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "It is a game where you had a lot of possession but there were tired legs and you are prone to counter-attacks. You make it difficult for yourself - 75% possession but you could have lost the game, that is modern football.

"When you are not sharp, you lack creativity in the final third. The energy levels were a bit down but we were intelligent enough not to lose it.

"We were exposed at times. When you cannot win, you must not lose.

"They had chances but our goalkeeper saved us today. Cech had a good performance in decisive phases.

"At least you can have a drink on your birthday. When you win you deserve it, when you don't you need it."

We are three hours away from kick-off in our Sunday action but there's plenty of time to take a look back at Saturday - which saw Arsenal and Liverpool move to the top of the tree and Sunderland and Hull continue to struggle. 

It's four games without a win for Manchester City, and with a Manchester derby and another meeting with Barcelona coming up a sticky run could get tricky.

Today won't be a walk in the park either.

Southampton have collected 51 points in 2016, two more than Manchester City have in the calendar year (49).

Jose Mourinho will surely - surely - get a good reception from the Chelsea fans today. Right?
