No matter the opposition, no shots on target and no corners from a home side after 45 minutes is, to be honest, pretty rubbish.

It is a full house at the Stadium of Light. Let's just hope Sunderland aren't looking at the "support" they're getting on social media...

Will Sunderland get relegated this season? Should David Moyes stay?

Rachel Fleming: Can't decide who is worse at the moment - the Aston Villa side from last season or this Sunderland side. Moyes is getting fired.

KoloKK: I'm convinced this is the season in which Sunderland is finally relegated. Like Villa last season, the signs are there.

Alex: David Moyes just loves to destroy teams, Sunderland weren't playing this bad last season, it's sack Moyes or get relegated.

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

Eight of the British Paralympians from Rio have just been introduced to the crowd, along with athletics legend and Sunderland fan Steve Cram.

The group all have Sunderland shirts with their names on, a nice touch from the club and the Paralympians get a warm reception from the home fans.

  6. Away dominancepublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

You would never think Arsenal were the away team.

What the area stats do not show is that Sunderland have done nothing with the ball when they have got into the Arsenal third, while the visitors have looked a threat every time they have attacked.

Kit Gray: Moyes has described the SAFC players as not being good enough and then told the fans that they should be prepared for another relegation battle.

That was before the season started. Marked contrast to the positivity of Big Sam. Does Moyes actually explain tactics, training or look at opponents before a match? He’s showing yet again that he needs to get another job. Two points and no clue on the pitch.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

And referee Martin Atkinson puts Sunderland out of their misery in a first half dominated by Arsenal.

The Gunners lead at half-time through Alexis Sanchez's excellent diving header after a lovely 22-pass move.

Mesut Ozil should have doubled the advantage, with Alex Iwobi also missing two further chances. Arsenal will feel they should be further ahead, for Sunderland, David Moyes has a lot of work to do.

    Zlatan IbrahimovicImage source, Getty Images

Zlatan Ibrahimovic likes to mix it a bit it seems. The big Swede has committed 22 fouls this season, the most of any player in the league. The strikers' brigade are all at it, with Callum Wilson on 20 and Troy Deeney 19. When will they stop kicking defenders?

And Zlatan seems to love giving a free-kick away as he's been flagged offside 13 times - again a league high, with Alexis Sanchez and Christian Benteke on 12.

But Zlatan and his naughty striker friends are getting away with it a little as the three players with the most yellow cards in the league are Jordan Henderson, Jonny Evans and Claudio Yacob.

Another chance for Arsenal and again Alex Iwobi is free on the edge of the penalty area. But he gets too much juice on his shot though with the ball drifting over the top.

  12. 'It's all too easy for Arsenal'published at 44 mins

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Arsenal have always got an option. No, wait, I'm wrong - they've always got three options, and they know which one to take as well.

There's an absolute ease to how Arsenal are passing their way through this Sunderland side.

It feels like if you counted the players, Sunderland wouldn't have the full amount on the pitch.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

That is now three in the book for Sunderland. Steven Pienaar, lucky to escape a card earlier on, is shown a yellow card for chopping down Francis Coquelin.

That's Pienaar, Wahbi Khazri and Didier Nidong who all have to be careful from now on.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 42 mins

Not a half Sunderland will have enjoyed, and now their captain, John O'Shea, has limped off with Papy Djilobodji coming on to replace him.

You lot are not rating Sunderland's efforts so far.

Marcus Donker: Sunderland look like a Championship side. No wonder they're where they are.

Henry W Njuguna: A Newcastle v Sunderland match would be grossly embarrassing. Mags would destroy Sunderland.

Emmanuel Ayodele: No disrespect to Sunderland, their team look like a Championship team, you have lots of work to do Sunderland.

  16. 'Dreadful' miss from Ozilpublished at 41 mins

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

That's a dreadful miss, the keeper should never, ever get to save that.

All Ozil had to do is put enough height on that and the keeper shouldn't touch it.

Arsenal are absolutely cruising now, you've watched enough of it to be looking at the bench and wondering what they can do to change things.

  17. GOOD SAVE!published at 40 mins

    Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are toying with Sunderland and should have already put this game to bed. They get in again with the hosts left chasing shadows. This time a lofted ball over the top of the defence sends Mesut Ozil clear.

He tries to lob the on-rushing goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, but the Sunderland stopper gets a hand to it to stop it being a second goal.

A glorious chance missed from Ozil, will that one come back to haunt them?

Kyle: So much of Arsenal's dangerous play has been avoidable. Terrible defending from a doomed Sunderland side.

    John Hartson

Just two points from the first nine Premier League games is relegation material.

Sunderland need to create chances for Jermain Defoe. They’ve got a goalscorer there. Sam Allardyce seemed to get the best out of Defoe. They just need to get him in those goal scoring positions.

A look back on that Alexis Sanchez goal with this fancy diagram. The move saw a full 22 passes. Impressive stuff and the diving header from Alexis Sanchez wasn't half bad too.
