Legia Warsaw on the other hand are doing a Chelsea of last season. They won the Polish title but are having a nightmare in this campaign and sit fourth from bottom. A manager has been sacked, with new man Jacek Magiera in place for around a month.

  2. Leicester aiming to take controlpublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

Leicester City's Champions League form has been in stark contrast to their Premier League struggles - and a win tonight against Copenhagen here at The King Power Stadium will put them in a position of real strength in Group G.

The Foxes have maximum points from their opening games away to Club Brugge and at home to FC Porto. If they win tonight they will stretch five points clear of the second-placed Danes.

The Premier League was Leicester's fairy tale last season - will it be the Champions League this time around?

Another familiar face in the Copenhagen ranks is striker Andreas Cornelius - he became Cardiff's record signing when he joined for £7.5m from Copenhagen in 2013.

He failed to score in his 11 games (having missed a few with injury, too) and left to rejoin the Danish club in the 2014 January transfer window.

Fans of Wimbledon midfielders from the late 1990s will recognise the name: Stale Solbakken.

FC Copenhagen's manager also had a spell in charge of Wolves in 2012-13, and - incredibly -  retired from playing after surviving a heart attack, external in training when he was at Copenhagen in 2001.

Here's what he's had to say on his opponents tonight:

"We all cheered for Leicester last season, the whole world did that. They inspired the whole world, that a team like Leicester is able to win the Premier League – everyone has to know what their team-mate on the pitch does and what the coach tells him and play with that little extra motivation.

"It was very good for world football. Everyone can learn from that."

So it's two Champions League wins from two so far for Leicester. OK, their group's not the hardest of the lot but still, who know's what might happen once they propel themselves into the knockout stage?

With his side struggling in the league - manager Claudio Ranieri's putting progress in Europe first - for now.

"In the Premier League we must be safe at the end of the year. The Champions League is now," said Ranieri. "At this moment, it's a priority.

"We want to improve but it's normal when we start the season to have something to work on because new players have come and everything is new.

"We are getting better and have to be solid and strong and don't make any pressure about relegation."

England and Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has scored three times this season but is without a goal in his past seven games.

At this stage last season, he had scored 11 goals.

"It's important he stays calm, keeps his strength and he will score a goal," said Ranieri in the build-up to today's game.

A goal changes everything. That's a feeling every striker knows.

You can't really mention Leverkusen without bringing up the 2002 Champions League final.

Lucio, Hans-Jorg-Butt and even a fresh-faced Michael Ballack were on the losing side as Real Madrid claimed victory at Hampden Park in Glasgow thanks to Zinedine Zidane's masterful goal.

The point is though: Leverkusen have got recent history on the European stage. They beat Liverpool and Manchester United on the route to the final that year, and have made the last 16 three times since - losing to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid started playing as Real Madrid do again over the weekend. A run of four draws in a row was ended when they hammered Gus Poyet's Real Betis 6-1.

Legia Warsaw are tonight's opponents at the Bernabeu, the Polish side are currently bottom of Group F having already lost 6-0 to Borussia Dortmund and 2-0 to Sporting Lisbon. It could be a long night for them it seems.

In Group H, Juventus travel to Lyon. The Italian side have won five on the spin, conceding just one goal. The game will see Miralem Pjanic - signed by Juve for over £20m from Roma this summer - face the side he represented for three years until 2011.

Both sides have hope in the group, with Juventus and Sevilla on four points, Lyon on three and Dinamo Zagreb on zero.

Spurs striker Son Heung-min spent two years at Leverkusen, scoring 21 goals in 62 league appearances before moving to Spurs in August 2015.

Judging by his early-season form, we're finally starting to see his best in the Premier League, too.

Five goals and two assists so far this campaign - more to come tonight?

Bayer are a decent side. They're not having a great season so far but they are good in this stadium. It will be a tough one for Tottenham.

I think there is wriggle room for them. If you want to win the group then it is must-win but if they want to get through, draw here and get four points in the next two games will be enough.

Win here though and it can really propel you to win the group.
