Former Spurs and Bayer Leverkusen striker Dimitar Berbatov: "Generally I think Spurs have come a long way from when I was there.

"They have improved greatly. I always knew they would become better and better. The chairman and team wanted to grow and to be honest they have great chance to attack first place in the league.

"They need to stay concentrated through the full season."

  4. Spurs need to end Wembley cursepublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2016

Tottenham v Bayer Leverkusen (19:45 GMT)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Spurs have lost their last five games at Wembley - including their opening Champions League game here against Monaco.

It has been a mixed start to their campaign with victory away to CSKA Moscow being followed up by a draw at tonight's opponents Bayer Leverkusen.

They cannot afford any slip ups tonight as defeat would put Mauricio Pochettino's side under pressure and they must once more cope without injured striker Harry Kane.

Leicester may have won the home meeting between these two sides but tonight promises to be a very tough ask for Claudio Ranieri's side.

Copenhagen have lost just one of their last 27 matches in all competitions and won 3-1 at Midtjylland on Saturday.

More impressively, they haven't lost in 28 games at home.

Quite simply, nothing can be decided in Group E at this stage. Four draws in six games have left the group looking very tight indeed so a home win would be incredibly welcome.

A win will guarantee Leicester's place in the last 16 tonight, and a win could also see them win the group IF Porto do not beat Club Brugge.

A draw will also secure qualification tonight IF Porto lose or draw.

  9. 'Tottenham better at White Hart Lane'published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2016

Tottenham v Bayer Leverkusen (19:45 GMT)

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Republic of Ireland international on BBC 5 live

I don't think ideally Mauricio Pochettino would want to play here, despite it being great commercially for the club. I still think they are a better equipped team on their own patch.

They play a high tempo, high intensity game and at Wembley that is very difficult to do. This is a huge pitch and the nature of the surroundings don't lend themselves to going right at teams.

Wales manager Chris Coleman and Leicester City's boss Claudio Ranieri are on Fifa's 10-man nominations shortlist for Men's Coach of 2016.

Wales made the European Championships semi-finals, their first major tournament since the 1958 World Cup.

Ranieri's Leicester stunned football by winning the 2015-16 Premier League.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur) are also on the list.

You can't help but think back to when Arsenal played at Wembley in the late 90s. They only won two from their six games.

That would be the concern for Spurs.

A few eyebrows were raised when Tottenham paid £22m for forward Son Heung-min in August 2015, but the South Korean has hit good form so far this season.

He has scored five times, including a key goal in Moscow to give Spurs their only win so far in the Champions League.

He will be up against familiar faces tonight. He played for Leverkusen from 2013 to 2015, making 62 appearances, scoring 21 goals.

    Andy Brassell

Bayer are a young athletic side. They have a lot of talent. They have a really interesting way of playing 4-4-2. People said 4-4-2 was dead but it wasn't, it just needed reinventing.

It will be a really interesting match with Spurs.

You've almost definitely not seen this format done before anywhere else. Certainly not across the Atlantic.

Anyway, watch as Leicester City's Christian Fuchs gets a lift to training from comedian Lloyd Griffith in the first of a brand new series.

On the Austrian footballer's commute, he reveals how he feels about fellow team-mates, and tells us which footballer's feet he wants to kiss.

Plus there's time for a very special quiz master - Mr Gary Lineker - to make an appearance and put Christian's knowledge of the Foxes to the test.

I think [playing at Wembley] can be a help if Tottenham get everything in order. They've got to get used to playing on a bigger pitch week in and week out. White Hart Lane is a much tighter, smaller pitch so tactically they might need to change a little bit so that'll take a bit of time.

I think the atmosphere at the Lane needs to be generated at Wembley. They need to find out what end is going to be where the singers want to sing and that'll get the stadium going.

If they really get behind the team, then that could be a massive, massive plus for them. But at the moment it's very spasmodic - everyone is just stretched out and split up.
