    Tottenham 2-1 CSKA Moscow

Harry Kane pings a free-kick over the wall but it's an easy catch for Igor Akinfeev.

Spurs fans, are you looking forward to a Europa League campaign, or not?

Much like the Checkatrade, it's probably a waste of time until you reach the final. Win it of course, and you secure a place in the Champions League next season.

  3. PENALTY TO PORTOpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Porto 3-0 Leicester

Danny Drinkwater puts a hand on Andre Silva's shoulder, like a nightclub bouncer asking you politely to leave. Penalty.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Tottenham 2-1 CSKA Moscow

Spurs chuck on Georges-Kevin Nkoudou. It's that sort of night.

  5. Postpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Porto 3-0 Leicester

More like it again from the Foxes as Shinji Okazaki finally tests Iker Casillas with a stooping header. Straight at the legend, but he had to work at least.

  6. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 2-1 Borussia Dortmundpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (60 mins)

    Game on in Madrid?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shown his credentials at the stadium where, if you believe the rumours, he wouldn't mind strutting his stuff more regularly, with a poacher's finish to match those of Karim Benzema.

That goal means Dortmund equal the record for most goals in a Champions League group stage campaign, with 20.

Gonzalo Higuain has put Juventus ahead against Dinamo Zagreb, meaning there will have to be some turnaround in that group for the Italian champions not to finish in first.

Sevilla need to win their match in Lyon - currently goalless - and hope Zagreb can score twice.

The seeds for the next round are beginning to take shape.

    Porto 3-0 Leicester

Half an hour to go in the deadest of dead rubbers. Robbie Savage was asked at half time what the best result Leicester could get was. He said a 3-0 defeat.

    Tottenham 2-1 CSKA Moscow

CSKA Moscow don't look too bothered about sending manager Leo Slutski off with a win tonight, it's a very slow and steady second half at Wembley thus far.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Porto 3-0 Leicester

Porto have made a slow start to the second half but almost find a fourth as the sharp and nimble Diogo Jota skins the blunt and clumsy Marcin Wasilewski and fires in a low shot which beats Ben Hamer - but slides past the post.

  11. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 2-0 Borussia Dortmundpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Karim Benzema (52 mins)

Real Madrid goal number two, Karim Benzema goal number two.

Once again though, the France striker owes a weight of gratitude to a lovely cross, this time from James Rodriguez, who whips a delicious left-footer across the face of goal, leaving Benzema the simplest of headers.

Dan: How would Leicester feel if they were Copenhagen right now? Team and performance basically constitutes a forfeit!

Kris Jefferson: There no rules about playing strongest teams in CL?! Feels very harsh on Copenhagen, Leicester were never gonna win with this team.

Leicester may have made 10 changes, but it's still a strong team out there tonight. Plus, there's no saying the team who started at the weekend would have done any better...

  19. Bowing out with a defeat?published at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Tottenham 2-1 CSKA Moscow

This is the end of an era tonight, as CSKA Moscow head coach Leonid Slutsky is taking charge of the Russian champions for the final time in the match at Wembley.

Slutsky, who combined his role with leading the Russian national side during Euro 2016, has decided to leave the club after a record 302 matches at the helm.

The 45-year-old has led CSKA to three Russian titles and two domestic cups since replacing former Spurs boss Juande Ramos in 2009.

Christian Eriksen has been the best player on the pitch tonight. After an ordinary start to the season he's shone in the last few games.
