  1. 'Leicester's recruitment is a problem'published at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Jonathan Northcroft
Sunday Times football correspondent on Wednesday Night Club

Their recruitment has been a problem. They haven’t replaced N’Golo Kante.

I think Kante is irreplaceable – but you look at Idrissa Gueye at Everton and he has the same attributes, a lot more than Nampalys Mendy does who they did sign.

The recruitment looks a little mixed to me.

George Armston: If we sack Ranieri then I'll be shocked. Our issue is the midfield and once that's sorted results will flow.

RG1996: Ranieri is untouchable. He is the best manager of the world

Thomas Ross: He should have a job for life but probably only has a job for weeks.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri says he is not worried about his future but acknowledges the club's owner is not happy with their domestic form.

The reigning Premier League champions have lost seven games this season and are just two points above the relegation zone.

Asked whether he was concerned about losing his job, Ranieri said: "Never, because it's not my decision.

"Of course [the owner] is not happy - no-one at the club is."

Ranieri added: "The owner is always behind us, he always tells us how he can help us and is always positive."

The visiting supporters are alleged to have set off fireworks and caused other crowd disturbances.

It is the 10th time in the past five years the club have been charged by European football's governing body regarding their fans' behaviour.

Uefa's disciplinary body will examine the case on 23 February.

Teams are wiser this season – they know that they can’t leave space behind for Jamie Vardy to run into.

Is Vardy is as good coming and receiving the ball? No, I don’t think he is. Teams are giving him 10 or 15 yards this year, and he isn’t as effective.

Nothing. Not even a festive miracle.

Tottenham are out already can only cling on to a possible place in the Europa League. Curse or cure?

CSKA need a win to finish above Spurs and take that Thursday night spot.

    Leicester City

    Nothing.

The Foxes have already won the group, but second place is up for grabs in Group G.

Copenhagen and Porto are duking it out for one of the rare places up for grabs in the last 16.

Sweeping changes by Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri. The Italian has named 10 different players in his starting XI to the ones that played in the defeat by Sunderland at the weekend.

The only player to keep his place in the side from the weekend is Wes Morgan.

Leicester XI: Hamer; Hernandez, Wasilewski, Morgan, Chilwell; Gray, Mendy, Drinkwater, Schlupp; Okazaki, Musa. Subs: Albrighton, Amartey, Simpson, Zieler, Ulloa, Fuchs, Barnes

    Joey Barton
Ex-Rangers midfielder on Wednesday Night Club

The fact that they’ve qualified to the next round of the Champions League, I think it says more about the system that we’re in than it does about Ranieri’s abilities.

You lose five or six games and people start calling for your head – it says a lot about what is going on in the world of football.

I can’t see why they would get rid of him.

Roll on into the winter and despite topping their Champions League group, the Foxes have forgotten their bread and butter.

With three wins all season in the Premier League, they are languishing in 16th place, just two points above Sunderland and the drop zone.

So should Ranieri be concerned about his future? Is he under-achieving?Was losing N'Golo Kante the main problem? If not, what?

Or is immune from criticism? HE WON THE LEAGUE WITH LEICESTER! Give the man some room to breathe...
