Like a toddler climbing on their bike after a fall, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has his confidence back. The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund flies down the left flank, drilling in a low cross that just evades team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Let's see if Henrikh Mkhitaryan's goal will open the floodgates. United knocking the ball around like it is a training session.

    Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Off the mark. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is up and running at Manchester United. The Armenian runs at the Zorya defence after picking up the ball close to the halfway, they back off and back off.

Close him! Mikhail Sivakov tries to, but is megged. And Mkhitaryan keeps his cool - and control on a bobbly pitch - to strike in his first Red Devils goal.

Some idiot has let off a red flare behind the Zorya goal, clouds of smoke getting in Igor Levchenko's eyes. Shoot!

    Zorya Luhansk 0-0 Man Utd

The Manchester United players huddle inside the tunnel for as long as possible, trying to stay warm before sprinting out when the Uefa suit tells them to.

The home side get the ball rolling again.

By the way, Fenerbahce are still winning over in Rotterdam. If it stays like that Manchester United will reach the last 32 regardless of what happens here.

Southampton forward Dusan Tadic could play in a facemask during his side's Europa League group game against Hapoel Be'er Sheva on Thursday.

Tadic, 28, has not featured since breaking his nose while playing for Serbia against Wales in November.

Remember: Saints will finish second in their group and reach the last 32 with a win or a goalless draw.

But a win for Hapoel, or a score draw, would see the Israeli side progress to the knockout stage.

    Team news is incoming shortly...

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:54 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016

    Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1 Dundalk

Dundalk need to turn this one around and hope for a Zenit revival away to AZ Alakmaar if they are to become the first Irish club to progress to European knockout action.

Boss Stephen Kenny will be disappointed with the way the goals were conceded but expect his side to go for broke in the second half.

To their fans, the Dundalk players are heroes already. Back-to-back League of Ireland Premier Division champions and some great results and performances in Europe. Beyond their wildest dreams.

It is not looking good for either of these sides now, as AZ Alkmaar go 2-0 up against the already-qualified Zenit. Dutch club AZ will go through as runners-up in Group D if they beat the Russians. Ridgeciano Haps scored AZ's second goal a couple of minutes before half-time.

Nope, even referee Tamas Bognar has seen enough. He blows up seconds after the clock ticks past the 45-minute mark.

United have hogged 76% of the possession and had 11 pops at goal. But they still haven't really, and I mean really, looked like scoring.

Not much stoppage time likely here. In fact I've not even seen the fourth official appear.

Another chance for Wayne Rooney! He hits one from the edge of the Zorya area, the ball swerving towards goal. Home keeper Igor Levchenko looks a bit unsure what to do, eventually deciding to push over his bar. If in doubt...

Wayne Rooney has woken up. The Manchester United skipper needs one goal to equal Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time scoring club record remember. Rooney darts in from the left, shooting low towards the near post.

Not much attacking spark from Manchester United now. Little quality from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan so far.

    Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1 Dundalk

Maccabi regain the lead in the 38th minute and again Dundalk will feel the goal could have been avoided. Dor Micha's low shot went through a defender's legs and probably unsighted Gary Rogers. But the keeper will be disappointed he didn't keep it out. With second-placed AZ Alkmaar still one up 1-0 at home to group leaders Zenit St Petersburg, the League of Ireland champions could be reaching the end of their great European adventure.
