Hapoel Beer Sheva 2-0 Celtic (agg 4-5)

"It was probably the longest 90 mins I've faced as a coach. I thought Beer Sheva were outstanding, they had nothing to lose. But I have to congratulate my players because all the work we've been doing in pre-season is based around that mentality. Tonight was about resilience. it was an amazing effort from the players on the back of what they've been through before.

    "I'm immensely proud."

It wasn't a night where you could talk about the positives. But, when it comes down to it, they got through. Some of them were on their knees at the end of it. Brendan Rodgers had a lot to do, he could see they were struggling but he made the changes. From that perspective he seen what he had to do and he did it.

We saw some really jaw dropping, retched performances here. Some of the performances were awful.

Legia Warsaw 1-1 Dundalk (agg 3-1)

Unfortunately Dundalk do not join Celtic in the group stage. Michal Kucharczyk finds the net two minutes into time added on to end any hope of a stunning comeback.

The saving grace for the Irish side though is they now go into the Europa League group stage, and could still meet some big names like Manchester United, Roma or Inter Milan.

Hapoel Beer Sheva 2-0 Celtic (agg 4-5)

In the end it is captain Scott Brown's goal at Celtic Park which has put the Scottish champions into the group stage.

Craig Gordon made mistakes at both goals this evening, but also saved a first half penalty.

After missing out for the previous two years, Celtic are into Thursday's group stage draw.

Hapoel Beer Sheva 2-0 Celtic (agg 4-5)

Time is against the home side. Tired legs are taking their toll and they can not find a useful final ball. The four minutes are up and the referee blows the full-time whistle. It was not a vintage performance from Celtic by any stretch of the imagination, but they have made it to the group stage.

Craig Gordon gets booked for time wasting over the goal kick. He'll take it though. two minutes of the four extra have been played.

Could be famous last words but Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has not had a save to make since the second goal. Despite Hapoel Beer Sheva dominating possession they can't create a real opportunity. Celtic are edging closer to a £25m bounty and the cream of Europe.

  16. CLOSE!published at 84 mins

Ben Sahar slips in behind the defence, but despite red shirts to pick out he misses them all. Big let off for Celtic.

Erik Sviatchenko has made a difference for Celtic at the back, currently getting his head to every cross into the box as the home side struggle to create the one big chance they need.A huge 10 minutes to come.

The home side make their final change, and little surprise it's an attacking player coming on. Miguel Vitor is replaced by Yuval Shabtai.

  20. Poor use of ballpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

Hapoel Beer Sheva 2-0 Celtic (agg 4-5)

    Tom English

Celtic have successfully completed 59% of their passes. That's lamentably low, but I thought it would be even lower. Their use of the ball has been wretched. Celtic going three at the back to try to sort out this mess.
