Jamie MacDonald dives to his right and throws out a palm to turn James Tavernier's free-kick out for a corner.
Harry Forrester is finding his rhythm now and, along with Niko Kranjcar, is stretching 10-man Killie.
Will Boyle is booked for a tackle on Rangers striker Joe Garner 25 yards from his goal.
The attendance at Rugby Park is 11,800.
James Tavernier pings in a low cross that has no fewer than three red-and-white shirted Rangers players diving at it. Harry Forrester is closest to making a connection four yards from goal but the ball stays out of Killie's goal. Rangers look transformed.
Kilmarnock captain Stevie Smith picks out Adam Frizzell with a pass to the edge of the box but the youngster slaps the ball high over the bar when he had time to control it and pick his spot.
Before play resumes Andy Halliday comes on to replace Joey Barton.

With the visiting fans making a lot of noise and the complexion of the match changed, Greg Taylor slides in on Joey Barton and makes a truly dreadful challenge on the Englishman, catching him heavily on his shin. That could have been a leg-breaker. The 18-year-old is shown a straight red by Kevin Clancy.
Kenny Miller shows a really classy touch to bring down a Jjames Tavernier crossfield pass with his right foot in the box, but the ball runs too close to Jamie MacDonald and Killie mop up.
Just before Tavernier's striker, Niko Kranjcar came on for Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter.
Rangers are back on level terms, despite being outplayed. What a screamer of a free-kick by James Tavernier. He pings a right-footed shot from 25 yards into the top right-hand corner of Jamie MacDonald's net. A peach.
Killie's Dean Hawkshaw is booked - harshly - for a sliding challenge.
Fresh-faced Dean Hawkshaw misplaces his pass to Kris Boyd when the Rangers defence had opened up. Play goes straight to the other end and Joe Garner appears to dive under a challenge from left-sided centre-back Will Boyle. It was one of those bits of contact where the striker dives UP the way. Referee Kevin Clancy was well placed. I think Garner is fortunate not to be booked.
Harry Forrester, who spent time on loan at Kilmarnock from Aston Villa, shows the sort of dazzling hip movement that attracts admiring glances in nightclubs. What followed was - a hugely over-hit cross - the sort of thing that would get you kicked out of a club.
BBC Scotland football pundit Gary Holt: "The danger for Kilmarnock is that their young players rest on their laurels."
Rangers kick off the second half needing a big improvement against this enthusiastic Kilmarnock side.

"Kris Boyd has a swagger about him tonight. He's noising up a few defenders. He looks like he's loving playing against his old team. He's got a presence. He's still got it. Rangers look a very average team. I'm not sure what the point of Joey Barton is in this Rangers team. He's not tracking runners, he's not creating anything."

"Rangers look like a borderline top-six team on this performance."
Kilmarnock 1-0 Rangers

"Loads of fight in Kilmarnock and the one piece of precision has come from them as well. Fine play by Greg Kiltie - who ran away from Joey Barton - and a clinical finish from Kris Boyd. Wes Foderingham wasn't exactly David de Gea in fairness. Rangers have an awful lot to find, both tonight and in the coming weeks and months."
Stevie Smith has the chance to double Killie's advantage with a long-range free-kick but the home skipper blazes it hi-i-i-igh over the bar. It's a stinker.
