  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 7 mins

Adam Frizzell blasts the ball at goal from 20 yards. Rangers defender Clint Hill, about four yards away, turns his back on it and the ball strikes his arm. Killie are furious that Kevin Clancy hasn't awarded a penalty!

  2. Angry Weirpublished at 4 mins

Rangers striker Joe Dodoo tumbles into the net and Killie keeper MacDonald gets his mitts on the high ball. David Weir, the assistant manager of Rangers, remonstrates with the fourth official that Dodoo should have been awarded a penalty.

Harry Forrester's ball over the top sets the irrepressible Kenny Miller scampering away but the angle is too tight for the veteran rangers striker to trouble big Jamie MacDonald in the home goal.

  4. Scene is setpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 26 August 2016

Killie are in their traditional blue and white striped jerseys, Rangers are in red and white. The plastic pitch looks, well, plastic perfect.

  6. 'Barton's not pulling up any trees'published at 19:45 British Summer Time 26 August 2016

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (KO 19:45)

    Tom English
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

“I think Joey Barton is in this team on reputation at the moment. I think Niko Kranjcar has had a better start to the season, he’s more creative. Barton is not pulling up any trees at the moment.”

  7. Late change for Rangerspublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 26 August 2016

OK, we're almost off and running. Killie look to be shaping up in a 4-1-4-1 formation, with Kris Boyd on his own up front. Danny Wilson, the Gers centre-half, injured a calf in the warm-up and is replaced by Clint Hill - what a great name!

  8. Kilmarnock FC, 1869published at 19:43 British Summer Time 26 August 2016

Sometimes it hits me just how long some of our clubs have been on the go. I mean, Killie were founded just four years after the American Civil War ended! Astonishing, really.

“How do you get a settled side? How do you know your best 11? It’s a rough, world up here. It’s not somewhere where you can cut your teeth in Scottish football and learn the game.

"You’ve got to give them their time to play. He keeps chopping and changing at the moment. Does that help the players?”
