  4. 'There are going to be goals'published at 11:52 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Former Rangers and Scotland striker Steven Thompson on Radio Scotland: "For me the Rangers team is a real statement of intent by Mark Warburton.  In recent weeks he has been playing with three central midfielders, but today - the hardest fixture of the season - he has got five attack-minded players in front of Joey Barton.  The way they are set up, it is going to be a massively open game.  Both teams have set up with really attacking formations, so I think there is going to be goals in this game."

Have a look at Thommo's Premiership predictions.

    Pat Bonner
    BBC Scotland pundit

"That first goal is going to be absolutely critical.  If Rangers get it, they have something to hold on to.  If Celtic get it, it is going to be a tough afternoon for Rangers."

  7. 'A disappointment' to lose Griffithspublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "We're looking forward to it. It's a disappointment because Leigh has started the season very well. Leigh is a big talent. But Moussa Dembele has been excellent, Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, we have other scorers. He (Leigh) won't be fit for Barcelona. He had a fitness test this morning. He got the scans back. It's a grade one. This (game) is about pride. You can't get carried away with all the euphoria around the game. I understand the history of Celtic and I understand the game and what it means and it brings a little edge to it. It will be fantastic game and I hope we can come away with three points at the end of it. The team is playing very well. It's still very early on in the season. If you win today it can help you. When you're playing against a rival it's three points - but it's always sweeter."

As many predicted, recent signing Dorus de Vries keeps his place in goal for Celtic, with Craig Gordon on the bench.

Apart from the loss of Leigh Griffiths through injury, with Moussa Dembele starting in his place up front, Brendan Rodgers' starting line-up is as expected.

  19. Senderos into starting line-uppublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Rangers manager Mark Warburton might have surprised a few with his starting line-up.

Josh Windass makes a return to the midfield, where he will be paired with both Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar, with Andy Halliday dropping to the bench.

Rather than a conservative line-up, he has Joe Garner up front along with Kenny Miller.

Former Grasshoppers centre-half Philippe Senderos makes his debut after signing shortly before the closure of the transfer window.
