    Newcastle 2-0 Brentford

Newcastle are very firmly on top here and they're looking to get the game wrapped up before half-time.

The Magpies thought they had a third but the referee ruled that Ayoze Perez handled in the area before the ball deflected in.

It's much more level at Loftus Road where Danny Williams has equalised for Reading against QPR.

It's still 0-0 at the iPro Stadium, where Steve McClaren - busy scribbling some notes from his view from the stands - is making his return as Derby County manager.

Aside from a long-range effort from Bradley Johnson, there's not been too much to shout about at either end of the field.

The BBC's Ian Shoesmith is at the Valley for Charlton v Coventry.

"Play has been delayed for five minutes while several hundred pink plastic pigs were cleared off the pitch by stewards and officials.

"The pigs were hurled on to the pitch from all sides of the ground, in a joint protest by Charlton and Coventry fans against both clubs' owners.

"It followed a well-attended joint march from Charlton railway station by Addicks and Sky Blues fans."

  4. Squealing with laughterpublished at 15:20

Aside from the raucous scenes at Charlton, elsewhere in League One, we've only had two goals so far this afternoon.

Fleetwood lead 1-0 against Peterborough and Bolton have taken the lead against rivals Oldham.

League Two is similarly barren, with a goal for Barnet against Exeter, and Cheltenham are a goal to the good against Crawley.

But it's Norwich who'll now be heading for the top of the Championship table, with Wes Hoolhan's turn and finishing putting the Canaries 1-0 up against bottom side Rotherham United.

    Dwight Gayle

Looking like a long afternoon for Brentford.

Dwight Gayle finishes well but Bees boss Dean Smith will be very unhappy with his side's defending. Again.

  7. Postpublished at 15:17

    Norwich 0-0 Rotherham

So, as it stands Newcastle will be moving up to second in the Championship table.

Norwich have made a good start against struggling Rotherham but don't have anything to show for their dominance yet.

Also in the Championship Pawel Wszolek has given QPR the lead against Reading.

    Ciaran Clark

Simple stuff for Newcastle as Jonjo Shelvey crosses to the back post for Ciaran Clark to head home his second of the season.

Absolutely bizarre scenes at Charlton Athletic, where both sets of supporters have joined forces to throw dozens of small, squidgy pigs onto the pitch in protest at their club's owners.

Last season, of course, Charlton fans halted a match by launching stress balls onto the pitch.

After a near six-minute delay they're back under way.

  10. Postpublished at 15:12

    Newcastle 0-0 Brentford

Good chance for Brentford but Scott Hogan heads over from about eight yards out.

Also in the Championship, Preston have taken the lead at Brighton through Jordan Hugill

  13. Pigs stop play at Charltonpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Charlton 0-0 Coventry

Now then, this isn't something you see every day. The news from the Valley is that play has been temporarily stopped because there are pigs on the pitch...

Nope, we have no idea either. We'll keep you posted.

Wolves visit Aston Villa in this evening's Championship game.

It's just over three years since the Molineux side suffered the ignominy of successive relegations from the Premier League to League One.

Walter Zenga's men face a Villa side who are now onto their fourth full-time manager since January 2015.

The Villans have won just once this season and have recorded just four league wins since the start of last season.

With that in mind we're asking you what's the worst losing run you've been involved in?

Played in a team that's lost every game in a season? Watched a team suffer back-to-back relegations?

    Plymouth v Portsmouth (15:00 BST)

First meets fourth in one of the stand out fixtures in League Two this afternoon as Plymouth host Portsmouth at Home Park.

Argyle edged Pompey out in a fiery play-off semi-final tie last season, but both sides have started this campaign among the automatic promotion candidates.

Portsmouth manager Paul Cook told BBC South Today the wounds of last season have still not healed but that he and his squad can't wait to face Plymouth again.
