That's probably fair enough, 2-0. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been the best player on the pitch, he stands out like a sore thumb. I don't understand Reading's substitutions though, I'm still thinking about them. They had a chance to put Arsenal under pressure, but they haven't done it.

  11. CLOSE!published at 21:31 British Summer Time 25 October 2016

    Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham

Daniel Sturridge was clinical when he was played clean through for Liverpool, Danny Ings isn't. A ball over the top finds him in space, he takes a touch and fires in a shot from the edge of the area and Michel Vorm does well to turn it away.

Daniel Sturridge for the hat-trick - no! He flicks a shot with the outside of his foot, it deflects up and over Michel Vorm but onto the crossbar.

That's a decent penalty shout for Spurs as well! Erik Lamela again, into the box, and Alberto Moreno has a hand all over him. Nothing given!

Lfcway: Never in a million years was that a penalty. Ref has Handed spurs a lifeline here!

Loz Smith: Soft penalty, but what on earth is Lucas doing trying to tackle there?! Lamela wasn't facing the goal! Naïve from Lucas.

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (78 mins)

Is that Arsenal into the last eight? Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drives in a shot from a long way out, it takes a deflection off a Reading boot but flies in.

Lucas clattered into the back of Lamela.

He had two goes at him.

It was a 'give-me goal' for Tottenham.

Lamela was facing the wrong way, not in control of the ball and both of Lucas' goes at him were fouls.

    Arsenal 1-0 Reading

Ali Al Habsi may have heavily contributed to Arsenal's opener, but the Reading keeper has certainly redeemed himself since. He makes another smart stop, blocking Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's drive after the Gunners winger played a neat one-two with Olivier Giroud.
