Ivan Cavaleiro weaves his way in from the left and powers a 20-yard shot towards goal which is tipped around the post by Jason Steele.

Matt Doherty then smashes one over from outside the box. It's all the visitors at the moment.

Blackburn make an attacking change with Anthony Stokes coming on for the lively Marvin Emnes.

Marvin Emnes bursts down the left and finds Sam Gallagher in space in the box but the youngster hits it straight at replacement goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

It was a good save by Lonergan, but Gallagher needed to do better.

Rovers' Darragh Lenihan smashes a volley towards goal but defenders throw themselves in the way and boot the ball clear.

Two goals for Aleksandar Mitrovic in only his second league start of the season made the difference for Championship leaders Newcastle as they beat Preston.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez: "We can see the team spirit growing and that is the main thing if you want to be strong. 

"I am really pleased with the team because we are doing so well away from home. 

"We showed great character, we made mistakes, but in the whole game we defended well and played the counter-attack we wanted to play."

That's as blatant as they come.

It's such an unnerving atmosphere inside Ewood Park for both sets of players.

Constant whistles are ringing out from the crowd, there are angry shouts from the stands and everyone is on edge.

Not pleasant at all.

Rovers are piling on the pressure at the start of this second half and it results in Helder Costa giving away a free-kick on the edge of the box.

Up steps Charlie Mulgrew but bends his effort miles over the bar. Awful.

Blackburn skipper Jason Lowe has looked so dangerous on the right all evening.

He bends in another super cross but Wolves manage to scramble it away.

Opposition captain Danny Batth is now down injured. I think the ball smacked him in the face.

Newcastle claimed their second win in five days over Preston to remain three points clear at the top of the Championship.

Preston boss Simon Grayson:"I understand it's a tough role to do, but that's a clear penalty there in the last minute. 

"Jermaine (Beckford) wouldn't go down if he's got an opportunity like that. It's cost us from getting anything out the game. It was 100% a penalty.

"We didn't get the breaks with the opportunity for two penalties. You get those breaks when you're at the top of the division."
