GOAL Preston 0-2 Newcastlepublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Aleksandar Mitrovic

Moments after Preston North End have penalty appeals waved away after Callum Robinson goes down in the box, Newcastle double their lead.

Aleksandar Mitrovic sees his initial header saved by Chris Maxwell but he slides in to get his second of the afternoon.

Top scorer Dwight Gayle might be missing for the Magpies today but that's the Serbian's second brace in a week against Preston.

    Leeds 0-0 Burton

There are just two games which are still goalless in the Championship; at Cardiff and Leeds.

If it stays that way at Elland Road then Burton boss Nigel Clough will lose his perfect record against the Whites.

Clough has never previously dropped a point against Leeds, having won all his games against them while in charge of Derby.

  3. goal

GOAL Brighton 3-0 Norwichpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Lewis Dunk

Brighton get their third through returning centre-back Lewis Dunk.

Jiri Skalak swings in another great ball from a corner and Dunk is there at the far post to nod it past Canaries keeper Michael McGovern.

Twenty five minutes remain at the Amex and Albion look like they have this one sewn up.

Huddersfield have enjoyed a terrific season so far, but it's turning into a nightmare at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

It's now 5-0 to Fulham! Chris Martin scored his second from the penalty spot before Kevin McDonald made it five.

Chris Gunter has doubled Reading's lead over Nottingham Forest and Derby are also 2-0 up against Sheffield Wednesday thanks to Alex Pearce's goal.

    Glenn Murray

Brighton have their second from a swift counter-attack after Alex Pritchard's free-kick hit the Albion wall.

Gaetan Bong releases winger Jiri Skalak, and the Czech winger swings in a cross.

Glenn Murray attacks the ball, beats two defenders to it and heads his second of the afternoon.

Brighton are on course to extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

  6. goal

GOAL Preston 0-1 Newcastlepublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Aleksandar Mitrovic

Championship leaders Newcastle have the lead at Deepdale!

Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is the man who has got the breakthrough.

Matt Ritchie's pass is deflected into Mitrovic's path and he slams the ball into the back of the net.

The Magpies look like they will preserve their three-point lead at the top.

  7. CLOSE!published at 16:18 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Brighton 1-0 Norwich

Anthony Knockaert comes close to doubling Brighton's lead.

The Frenchman beats two players with a bit of skill and sends a left-footed curling effort wide.

  8. League One and Two updatepublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

Swindon have pulled a goal back at League One leaders Scunthorpe, who are 4-1 ahead. Managerless MK Dons have made it 1-1 at Sheffield United.

League Two's bottom side Newport have taken the lead at Accrington, who have not lost at home since August. Meanwhile Kyle Vassell has scored his second of the afternoon to put Blackpool back on level terms at Cheltenham. It is now 2-2 there.

  9. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Preston 0-0 Newcastle

Preston are on top against Championship leaders Newcastle at Deepdale.

Paul Gallagher shot narrowly wide just after the break and Magpies keeper Karl Darlow has been forced to tip over a dangerous cross, with Jordan Hugill waiting to pounce.

At the other end, Aleksandar Mitrovic has put an effort wide of the Preston upright.

  11. Can Wednesday end Derby hoodoo?published at 16:12 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Derby 1-0 Sheff Wed

Sheffield Wednesday reached the Championship play-off final last season and are mounting another promotion bid in 2016-17.

However, they are close to extending an unwanted record today as they are currently losing at Derby.

Wednesday have not won in their last 16 meetings with Derby in all competitions.

Their last win over the Rams was in April 2006, when goals from Marcus Tudgay and Leon Best gave them victory in the east Midlands.

  12. Rotherham take the leadpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Ipswich 1-2 Rotherham

There is some story developing at Portman Road. Rotherham, who have lost seven straight games and every away game in the league this season are ahead!

Danny Ward volleys home his second of the afternoon to give the Millers a sniff of their second victory of the season.

I wouldn't bank on it though - the Championship's bottom side have conceded 34 goals already this campaign.

  13. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Cardiff 0-0 Wigan

Wigan striker Will Grigg was 'on fire' last season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions for the Latics and earning a place in Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 squad.

He's been involved in seven of Wigan's 13 league goals this season and almost bagged another to put the visitors ahead in Wales.

  16. Life after Walterpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Blackburn v Wolves (17:30 BST)

Former Wolves boss Walter ZengaImage source, Getty Images

The Championship's late game sees two clubs in something of a mini-crisis go head to head.

Wolves, under the stewardship of caretaker boss Rob Edwards after Walter Zenga was sacked on Tuesday, have lost four of their last five league matches.

Blackburn have also endured a difficult start to the season under new boss Owen Coyle with just three wins.

Gary Smee will be bringing you live text commentary of the match at Ewood Park from 17:30 BST.

There's plenty of action still to come in the second half of all the three o'clock kick-offs though.

  17. HT: League One and League Two updatepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

Scunthorpe look like they will remain top of League One as they are 4-0 up against Swindon at half-time, while second placed Bolton are 3-0 up against Port Vale.

In the West Midlands derby Coventry, who have put plans to appoint a permanent manager on hold until January, are beating Walsall 1-0 at the Banks's Stadium.

Carlisle look to be closing the gap on League Two leaders Plymouth, who are drawing with Colchester, as they are 3-0 up against Crawley.

Meanwhile struggling Exeter are beating Morecambe by the same scoreline. They could well be out of the relegation zone by the end of the day.

  18. HT: Championship latestpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

What a first half it has been for Fulham at Craven Cottage - Lucas Piazon has put the west London side 3-0 in front against Huddersfield just before the break.

Barnsley had the chance to double their lead against Bristol City from the penalty spot, but Frank Fielding saved Sam Winnall's penalty with his legs.

Not too many goals elsewhere in the Championship as half-time whistles are blown.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

    Brighton 1-0 Norwich

And the whistle is blown for the break at the Amex Stadium.

Second-placed Brighton are narrowly ahead of fourth-placed Norwich through Glenn Murray's sixth-minute strike.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

Cardiff 0-0 Wigan; Preston 0-0 Newcastle

The half-time whistles have gone in our first two featured games in the Championship, and it's all level at both the Cardiff City Stadium and Deepdale.

Both fiercely contested but not a great deal of goalmouth action.
