    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Incredible! Our first shot on target finally arrives - and it leads to our opening goal.

Anthony Martial lumps forward a hopeful ball from inside his own half, drawing Maarten Stekelenburg out of his goal.

But the Everton keeper is beaten to the ball by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who lobs his former Ajax team-mate and - via crossbar and post - drops the ball into the net.

Great finish. But what was Stekelenburg thinking? Perhaps he was just bored.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has woken up a little bit. The Manchester United midfielder sticks on the gas again, charging forward but Ramiro Funes Mori's sliding challenge sees out the danger.

Here's what 130m quid's worth of prime-cut footballer gets you. Henrikh Mkhitaryan accelerates forward through the heart of the Everton defence, laying off to Paul Pogba. But the world's MEP can't execute the three-yard return pass and the ball runs through to Maarten Stekelenburg.

Rambo Rambo: Ibrahimovic has been so poor its unbelievable. Wouldn't be surprised if he scored the winner

Andy in Durham: Ibra slows the game down too much. Too many touches when a give and go would do.

Not a classic this. Both teams a bit ponderous on the ball for my liking. And not enough defensive howlers.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 33 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Ironic jeers from the Manchester United fans. Gareth Barry sees yellow. That's number 117 in his career - and about 22 minutes too late. He clatters into Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Welcome back to the Premier League, son.

Manchester United were majestic going forward against West Ham in midweek. Fluent, fearless, frightening. Not yet today.

Then Henrikh Mkhitaryan, one of the stars on Wednesday night, is knocked over on the edge of the Everton area.

And just as Robbie says that, Romelu Lukaku does go toe-to-toe with Marcos Rojo. Or I should say shoulder-to-shoulder. The burly Belgian bundles him out of the way, feeding Yannick Bolasie in front of him. Bolasie drills in a cross but there isn't a blue shirt there to meet the ball.

Everton want to isolate Lukaku against Rojo.

They'll want to run at him and commit him now he is on a yellow card.

I don't think you can win the Premier League with the partnership of Rojo and Phil Jones. Rojo is the weak link in that defence.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not had much service yet. The Swede drops deep in the hope of making something happen for Manchester United, but his clip towards Anthony Martial on the left wing is overcooked.

Simmering nicely now is this one. Not had a shot on target yet, but the temperature on the pitch is rising. Just as it drops in the stands. Ronald Koeman has his driving gloves on.

Strong defending from Phil Jones saves Manchester United.

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie totally kippers Matteo Darmian, sucking him in and then knocking the ball around him. He collects again before whipping in a dangerous cross fromt he right wing.

But Jones, who can feel Romelu Lukaku's breath on his neck, heads out.

Thankfully, Idrissa Gueye is back on his feet and not seriously injured. The free-kick is slung into the United box, but Romelu Lukaku's head turns into a 50p. The ball pings skywards and backwards off the Belgian. Then Tom Cleverley's attempted volley slices into David De Gea's hands.

That should be a straight red.

That is a bad tackle. It was awful.

Rojo was fast, aggressive, out of control with studs showing. That is a bad tackle that can seriously hurt your opponent.
