Victor Valdes hasn't had a shot to save, that tells you how limp Hull have been. Middlesbrough have been better, but everyone wants four or five touches. Ramirez has been the outstanding player, while Dawson and Davies have been very, very good for Hull.

Six of Hull's games this season have been 0-0 at half-time - the joint-highest in the division (also Sunderland, WBA and West Ham).

No side has scored fewer second-half goals than Middlesbrough this season (5), while Hull have scored a league-high 82% of their goals after half-time (9 out of 11).  

So 1-0 to Hull it is then?

That's probably the outstanding moment of the game. It's a great tackle. However, Ben Gibson and Calum Chambers were split by one ball. That's a little worry.

Maginificent defending! It's been all Boro but one pass cuts their defence apart like a Christmas cracker hat. Adama Diomande - who scored the first goal of the Premier League season, as I learned at a quiz last week - is in on goal but Ben Gibson slides in to perfectly tackle.

I will make the point again. I have never seen a game with so many backward passes.

At least Boro are having a go. Gaston Ramirez runs into the box, pulls the trigger but his shot is well blocked.

Kim: Alavaro Negredo is such a waste. How is he a striker. He wastes 99% of his chances.

It was from the side of Negredo's head. He was between two players and I think he lost his bearings. It might have been the shock of getting a cross.

National League side Lincoln have been pressing for a third goal to put League One opponents Oldham out of sight, but they have to settle for a two-goal lead at half-time.

The Imps will be rewarded with a trip to Ipswich in the third round if they can hold on after the break, as well as £27,000 in prize money.

Going back to those average positions, look at the comparison between the two teams. Boro have all but two men on the halfway line or beyond, while Hull have all but two in their own half. Tells you pretty much all you need to know.

I'm already looking at the bench. Boro have Stewart Downing, Adama Traore and Cristhian Stuani available, no Jordan Rhodes though. Not sure if he is still injured or just not deemed good enough at this level.
