If it wasn't for the baggy tracksuits, I would swear this is from Vicarage Road today, where Ronald Koeman needs his Everton to win...

Everton manager Ronald Koeman on Romelu Lukaku's form: "You can have a good run of scoring goals and then have a bit of time where you don't really get big chances to score.

"The players around him need to create more and he can improve in his movements - it's a team question to create more chances. But if he gets the chances, we always know he will score goals."

Two clubs that have lost their way in recent weeks and their hopes of turning things around with victory in this one have been hit by the loss of key performers.

At least Watford will only be without Roberto Pereyra for one game now, the loss of Yannick Bolasie for the season with a knee injury is a huge blow to Everton.

Dropped last week, opportunity should knock again for Ross Barkley as the Blues aim to extend their incredible record against a Watford side whose once lethal strike partnership of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo appears to have gone AWOL.

Both meetings finished all square last season and I wouldn't bet against a third draw in a row.

Ding ding! Ladies and gentlemen, surely we have our winner.

We've had Paul Burton with Jairzinho. Nydianne with David Beckham on her sofa. The Bobby Moore and Alan Ball combo.

They don't get close to this. My word.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman says the loss of Yannick Bolasie has increased the need to make signings in January.

The DR Congo winger, 27, will have knee surgery next week after scans confirmed he suffered serious ligament damage against Manchester United on Sunday.

"The necessity now is a little bit more than before because we have lost Yannick for a long time," said Koeman.

Koeman has previously spoken about his interest in taking Manchester United's Memphis Depay, 22, on loan in January.

What a week so far for Arsenal. Five goals at West Ham and another four in Basel to top their Champions League group for the first time since 2011.

Arsenal are well placed in the league - will they push on and show us they are the real deal, or flounder and reveal familiar fragilities?

They have a fantastic home record against Stoke but the much-improved Potters will be no pushover.

Mark Hughes' men have lost just one of their last nine and have not conceded more than one goal in any of those games.

The recent switch to 3-4-3, external suits talented pair Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri (below), who will be very dangerous if Stoke are given chances on the counter-attack.

When Gareth Barry features at Vicarage Road this afternoon the 35-year-old will move level with Frank Lampard on 609 Premier League appearances. And into joint second on the list.

Only one man has made more - Ryan Giggs of course. The Manchester United legend has 632 up his sleeve.

If Barry plays every game this season he could end up on - you guessed it - 632...
