You can't call it Loris Karius' fault that time, Michail Antonio has got beyond the Liverpool defence far too easily.

Antonio is having a great season in front of goal and once he is one-on-one it is a simple task.

It's a goal from absolutely nothing - where is Nathaniel Clyne's position? He should be there to clear up behind Joel Matip.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have got an awful lot of work to do when it comes to the basics of defending. Dear oh dear.

Liverpool look a threat up front still though, as Roberto Firmino flashes a header wide. 

Bad news for Southampton fans - the club have just confirmed that striker Charlie Austin is out for three to four months with a shoulder injury.

As one of our tweeters pointed out, it was the step to his left that cost Loris Karius for the goal. Once he'd gambled pre-strike he was never going to get back.

West Ham have been the better side without creating many chances. It just shows how important set-pieces are.

They want to put Loris Karius under pressure. That's clearly the message from Slaven Bilic.

Liverpool whip in a corner and it flashes right across the goalmouth...

It's an open and entertaining game at Anfield, there's more goals in this one for sure. Sadio Mane is close to sending Divock Origi in on goal but it's well cut out.

Mad Max: It's not Karius's hand being weak but his placement, why was he hugging the left post so bad? 1 step right and he's got it  

Lotak: Good free kick from Payet. Poor, poor goalkeeping from Karius. Not covering himself in glory in recent weeks.  

Adam Byrne: The Liverpool keeper is terrible. Come back Simon Mignolet - all is forgiven

Karius got a good solid hand to it and I felt he had left a lot of space to the right-hand side of his goal.

It's not struck brilliantly from Payet, it's not right in the corner, that's a goalkeeping error.

West Ham have looked more comfortable, they have settled after that really poor start for them.

Liverpool respond instantly with a super slick move, which ends with Jordan Henderson bustling into the area and seeing his powerful shot blocked away for a corner.

West Ham are a little bit slower in possession around the final third. Liverpool can go and exploit a team that's out of position.

West Ham have just tried to kill the threat and recognise another goal could really kill them off.

Since that Michail Antonio shot West Ham have barely been within sight of the Liverpool goal. Dimitri Payet has the ball for the first real time but his cross is well blocked by James Milner. That's a corner. 

Steven Gerrard watches on from the stands, the former Liverpool captain is yet to announce his next move. Boot room?

You can see Andy Carroll getting on at some point today, he gives West Ham a different option. 

I can see him putting Liverpool's centre backs under severe pressure if he does come on, that would free Michail Antonio up as well.
