Everton can smell blood. Romelu Lukaku, who was very quiet in the first half, has an attempt from the edge of the area which deflects off Michael Dawson and requires David Marshall to tip it on to the bar.

    Hull 1-1 Everton

David Marshall is the fifth goalkeeper to score a Premier League own goal this season after Stoke City's Shay Given, Everton's Maarten Stekelenburg, Watford's Heurelho Gomes and Arsenal's Petr Cech.

It is definitely an own goal.

David Marshall is going to punch the ball and Dieumerci Mbokani punches his hand. It means he mis-times it and the ball goes in.

A disastrous goal for Hull on the stroke of half-time. They had got their noses in front and Marshall had nothing to do until then.

A really poor goal to give away. Mike Phelan will be absolutely distraught.

As a goalkeeper, you have to be very dominant. If the keeper shouted then Mbokani has to get out of the way. There was no Everton player challenging for the ball.

    David Marshall own goal

What a disaster for Hull. What a disaster for David Marshall.

The hosts are seconds away from establishing a half-time lead when Everton win a corner. It's whipped in by Kevin Mirallas, Hull keeper Marshall comes to claim but, under pressure, he ends up punching the ball into his own net as Dieumerci Mbokani tries to clear.

    That's a gift for Everton.

    Hull 1-0 Everton

England manager Gareth Southgate is in the stands. I'm not sure Ross Barkley's display has caught his eye but young Harry Maguire certainly has impressed in Hull's defence. Some of his side's best moves have started as a result of the 23-year-old.

    Hull 1-0 Everton

How many times have Hull led at half-time this season? Not often, I suspect. They've only got another five minutes before Mike Phelan can gather his players together and dish out instructions. He'll be delighted with the effort they have shown so far.

Romelu Lukaku is beginning to make his presence felt but the ball runs away from the big striker just as he looks to pull the trigger inside the Hull area. It sums up Everton's half.

    Hull 1-0 Everton

Hull fans have not had too much to get excited about this season but they are loving the effort their side is showing.

Another lovely sweeping move almost leads to a second goal, Harry Maguire's ball allows Robert Snodgrass to whip in another super cross which Adama Diomande stabs wide.

Will they regret that miss at the end?

Everton's best attacking player so far? Gareth Barry. He lets fly from 25 yards and it's only just wide.

Ross Barkley is having one of those games. He's struggling to get into this. That said, Romelu Lukaku has yet to stamp his authority.

It's a pretty even game now, with both sides having similar amounts of the ball in attacking positions.

This is a decent game, end to end with both defences looking vulnerable.

Hull have a great chance to double their lead when Robert Snodgrass swings in a pin-point cross but Dieumerci Mbokani's header is tame.

    Hull 1-0 Everton

Here's a stat sure to bring a smile to Mike Phelan's face. No defender has scored more Premier League goals this season than Michael Dawson's three.

Curtis Davies has assisted twice in 19 Premier League games this season - as many as he had in 146 games across seven previous top-flight seasons before this campaign.

Dangerous times for Hull. Everton have dominated possession since falling behind, with 35-year-old Gareth Barry causing the home defence problems. No real threat so far from Romelu Lukaku.

A great ball in from Gareth Barry.

Seamus Coleman's header was in slow motion, he did not get a great connection on it but Hull goalkeeper David Marshall was beaten.

Everton have finally woken up after a woeful start. Kevin Mirallas has a shot pushed away before Seamus Coleman heads against David Marshall's post. The rebound falls kindly for the hosts who just about scramble it clear.
