  1. "You make your money in both boxes"published at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2016

    Huddersfield Town 0-1 Wigan Ath

Former Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon on BBC 5 live sports extra and BBC Radio Leeds at half-time:

"You make your money in both boxes and today it’s been poor - the defending for the goal and the final ball into the box to get the goals they need to win the game is just not there and once they get into the box they are not finding their team-mates."

But Reece Burke's goal clearly came as a surprise to the Wigan media team...

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2016

    Huddersfield Town 0-1 Wigan Athletic

Huddersfield have had the lion's share of possession and chances but it is Wigan who lead at the break - meaning that there won't be a goalless draw in the Championship this weekend.

On-loan West Ham youngster Reece Burke's goal separates the sides, sweeping home Yanic Wildschut's cross from eight yards.

Yanic Wildschut is suddenly causing Huddersfield no end of problems and he bursts away down the right again before cutting inside and seeing a shot deflected wide for a corner.

He had Michael Jacobs tearing up in support but decided to go himself, fancying a bit of glory.

    Huddersfield Town 0-1 Wigan Athletic

There will be five minutes of added time at the end of the first half. A roar goes around the John Smith's Stadium as Huddersfield bid to get back on level terms.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 44 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-1 Wigan Athletic

Huddersfield have already lost captain Mark Hudson to injury, and now they lose Sean Scannell too, as the forward limps off.

Nahki Wells is on in Scannell's place. But it means that boss David Wagner only has one for card to play from the bench.

  7. Town pay for "not taking chances" says Glennonpublished at 42 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-1 Wigan Athletic

Former Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon on BBC 5 live sports extra and BBC Radio Leeds:

"Huddersfield had plenty of opportunities to clear the ball. Hogg could have cleared it - he has taken his eye off the ball or something as it’s come across. For all the dominance Huddersfield have had, it should not be 1-0 to Wigan but Huddersfield have not taken their chances and a side like Wigan can score past you."

I said Wigan were a threat on the break and we see it in action here.

Yanic Wildschut shows good strength down the right and swings over a cross to the unmarked Reece Burke, who sweeps the ball home from six yards.

It's Brown's first Wigan goal and the first under boss Warren Joyce.

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Huddersfield have been on top, but Wigan are offering a threat on the break.

Michael Jacobs sends Yanic Wildschut scampering down the left wing, and he cuts inside before firing in a low shot that Danny Ward saves low to his left.

Sean Scannell (left) has been a handful on his 100th start for the Terriers, and he plays his part in another move as Huddersfield go close again.

Scannell and Kasey Palmer combine to set Tommy Smith free but his driven cross is just too far in front of Elias Kachunga rushing in.

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Another opening for Huddersfield as Kasey Palmer spins on the edge of the box but can only direct his shot off target.

Wigan boss Warren Joyce is wearing shorts on the sidelines. That's right. Shorts. In November. And he's not playing. That's brave when the temperature is predicted to drop below freezing tonight.

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

The curse of the commentator almost struck in reverse there as Kasey Palmer pops up in the box and sees a header tipped around the post by Wigan keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Huddersfield are dominating possession and efforts on goal but they're not yet making it count.

  13. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

There have been no goalless draws in the Championship so far this weekend. No pressure here then as we continue to await an opener.

This is better. First Yanic Wildschut fires off target for Wigan.

Then, as play switches to the other end, Chris Lowe sees a bouncing shot pushed away by a diving Jussi Jaaskelainen.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 23 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

That's the closest we've come to a goal. Huddersfield win a corner after Rajiv van La Parra's turn and shot is deflected wide.

Wigan deal with the initial threat, but Kasey Palmer floats the ball back across goal where Tommy Smith pulls it back for Elias Kachunga to head in from close range.

But the flag is up straight away and it was Smith who was well offside.

  16. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Former Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon on BBC 5 live sports extra and BBC Radio Leeds:

"Both sides are not really getting into the final third at all and when they do little cynical fouls are being played out as well."

  18. Warm greeting on a cold nightpublished at 20 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Huddersfield manager David Wagner had a warm greeting for his opposite number Warren Joyce before the game. Tonight is only Joyce's third match in charge of the Latics after taking over at the start of November.

  19. YELLOW CARD Jonathan Hoggpublished at 18 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg goes flying through Nathan Byrne and is shown the game's first yellow card by referee Tony Harrington.

    He can't have any complaints.

A reminder that former Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen is between the sticks for Wigan today at the age of 41.

That even gives me hope! For all Huddersfield's early promise, he's not been troubled yet.
