  1. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

We've not seen much of Wigan as an attacking force yet. When we do it ends up in a moment to forget for Max Power, who takes an airshot at the ball when Yanic Wildschut's pull-back bounces into his path on the edge of the box.

  2. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

This is turning into a bright start by Huddersfield who go close again as Aaron Mooy swings over a free-kick from the right and Jon Stankovic flicks a header narrowly side of the far post from six yards.

    It was a presentable chance.

  3. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Superb move from Huddersfield. Elias Kachunga threads a pass through to Rajiv van La Parra, who gets to the byline and floats over a cross.

Kachunga meets it but can only head narrowly over and on to the roof of the net.

  4. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Sean Scannell is still limping after that challenge by Stephen Warnock.

But Huddersfield have a problem with Mark Hudson too as the skipper limps off with an apparent hamstring injury only a few minutes into his return. Not a way to remember your 450th career appearance.

Chris Schindler comes on in his place.

  5. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Huddersfield Town 0-0 Wigan Athletic

Both sides have been feeling each other out until Huddersfield's Rajiv van La Parra injects a burst of pace and then slides a pass through towards Sean Scannell, who is taken out by Stephen Warnock.

The free-kick is in a promising position but Chris Lowe blasts it straight into the wall.

    Unlikely classics at #bbcefl

Ok, let's face facts. On paper, unless you're a fan of either team, Huddersfield v Wigan hardly sets the pulses racing does it?

But how many times do games between the so-called big teams fail to deliver?

No, it's games just like these that can have that knack of turning into unexpected classics - after all, who expected Swansea v Crystal Palace to be such a thriller on Saturday.

So tonight, we want to know what games have you seen - at any level - that delivered more than you ever expected? Let us know at #bbcefl.

  11. Advantage Huddersfield?published at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2016

Huddersfield Town v Wigan Athletic (19:45 GMT)

Pre-match stats mean absolutely nothing, but they do make interesting reading. And, on these alone, courtesy of our friends at Opta, then it looks like a nailed-on home win this evening.

    • Huddersfield are unbeaten in all 12 of their previous home league games against Wigan (W6 D6).
    • Wigan have never scored a league goal at the John Smith's Stadium, with their last goal away at Huddersfield coming when they played at Leeds Road in April 1993.
    • The Terriers have won their last six home league games on a Monday, most recently a 2-1 win over Ipswich in April 2015.

If only football was that straightforward....

Huddersfield started the season like a runaway train, winning eight of their first 11 league games.

But since victory at Ipswich on 16 October, they've won only one of their last six, losing four - although they are still sixth and will go fourth with a win this evening.

Wigan, meanwhile, have been out-of-form, well, pretty much all season.

The Latics have won only three times, are second-from-bottom in the table and sacked boss Gary Caldwell last month.

Warren Joyce is now in charge of the Latics and if there is a reason to be cheerful it is that although they've only won one of their last seven, four of those have ended in draws and a win this evening could lift them out of the relegation zone.

  14. TEAM NEWSpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2016

Huddersfield Town v Wigan Athletic (19:45 GMT)

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner makes three changes to his starting line-up, with Mark Hudson, Sean Scannell and Rajiv van La Parra all coming in.

It's a milestone night for both Hudson and Scannell, with the centre-back making his 450th career appearance, while forward Scannell is starting his 100th game for the Terriers.

There are three changes for Wigan too, with veteran goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen replacing the injured Adam Bogdan, while Nathan Byrne and Luke Garbutt also come into the side.

Bogdan has returned to parent club Liverpool after suffering an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

  15. Finale to the weekendpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2016

Huddersfield Town v Wigan Athletic (19:45 GMT)

After the fun and frolics of the weekend's action, it's events at the John Smith's Stadium that will bring the curtain down on matchday 18 in the Championship.

But before we go any further, let's take a look at this evening's team news.
