How many good crosses has Traore put in in the entire game, and he's an attacker, compared to how many Friend has put in?

That's the one thing that will give heart to Negredo up front. He's had so few opportunities, but the balls are starting to come in and he will not give up on anything.

And now Leicester's best effort of the match.

Lenardo Ulloa meets a Christian Fuchs corner with his head and Brad Guzan holds it down low to his left.

If George Friend hadn't come off the bench in the first half then this game would be 20% worse.

The Boro skipper skips past Danny Simpson down the left and then floats beyond Andy King into the box - if only the shot matched the run as he spanks it over the bar.

Michael Stone: Based on trend of last 20 games there's a 10% chance someone will score a goal with a scorpion kick today

Paul Thompson: This is the issue with teams playing within 48 hours. Tired legs & tired minds equal poor quality. Especially in final third.

Boro are, slowly, turning the screw and the crowd are reacting. It's the home full-backs who are getting the most joy as Fabio whips in a cross from the right - Robert Huth gets his big German head on it to clear.

As a player you feel it on the pitch when the space is opening up. It gives you a lift because you feel like you won't get smashed by two players running into you every time you get the ball.

I think George Friend can be pleased with how he's played since he's come on. He's done well down the left to rouse the crowd, which no one else really has.

He is possibly the best player in this second half, getting forward time and time again and the quality of ball from him is so far above everyone else in this game.

George Friend has looked sharp since coming on - and the Boro full-back puts in a lovely ball across the Leicester six-yard box.

But no Boro player gambles and instead Wes Morgan and Robert Huth are left wondering whether to risk putting a foot on it.

    Instead they both leave it.

Genuinely, the best chance for both sides so far has been the possibility of an own goal.

Nii: Unless something different happens in the next 40mins, the fans deserves a refund. Awful football match.

Gary Noble: Yes it's clearly stupid to play on Saturday and again on Monday.... any surprise we get injuries... Chelsea play in 2 days.

    Rohit Kohli: Bored.

Here's something to keep you entertained.

Coventry City host Bolton Wanderers in League One today, but the club's first match-day programme of 2017 has fallen foul of the January transfer window.

    It features striker Marvin Sordell...

The club said: "Yesterday, striker Marvin Sordell completed a move to Championship side Burton Albion which saw Stuart Beavon and Callum Reilly move to the Ricoh Arena.

"Unfortunately, the Bolton programme was completed before details of the transfer became apparent."

Alvaro Negredo keeps on making the runs for Middlesbrough. Centre forwards will always go on about how they will make 100 runs and only get two good deliveries.

When the chance is there to get a ball into the box it needs to be good, so far it ain't.

There is no space, the game has not opened out.

Some goal-mouth action to speak of in the Boro area.

Riyad Mahrez finds a pocket of space for the first time today and gives Andy King the chance to cross from the right.

It's hard and low and skids past everyone - one touch from a Boro defender and it could have been an own goal.

Earlier we asked what was memorable about the only goal as Middlesbrough beat Leicester back in March 2002 and the answer is a spectacular own goal by Frank Sinclair.

Also memorable - Robbie Savage was booked for a foul on the now England manager.

Any quality we've seen today has come from twinkle toes Traore.

The Boro forward goes past Christian Fuchs and this time the cross is a nice one, but Leicester get it away.

George Friend has a shot from the loose ball, but it's easy for Kasper Schmeichel.

That's Boro's first attempt on target.

Seun: Why do games like this keep getting the prime slots? Anyone could have told you this was going to be awful. SMH

Rich: And you're not going to get good games of football when both teams played less than 48 hours ago. Schedule is just stupid

Huw Llewelyn Jones: What an absolutely tedious first half of football at the Riverside. Game lacking some serious quality. Poor from both teams

    Hopefully.

I think Boro could get dragged into the relegation battle. I think Hull will go and Swansea will go and Sunderland might be the team to pull out of trouble.
