Paul Clement and Sam Allardyce are having a very lengthy and very friendly chat in the tunnel. Getting back into management and finding somewhere to live 'south of the river, but close to the city' the highlights before Big Sam shows his opposite number where to have a drink after the game.

All friends now. But no quarter will be given once the whistle goes.

It was only just over a month ago that these sides met in south Wales where a mutual decision to completely fail to defend crosses led to a bonkers classic.

Nine goals, seven in the last 24 minutes! More of the same tonight please.

    Bournemouth v Arsenal (19:45 GMT)

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is without Jack Wilshere as the on-loan midfielder can't play against his parent club. Dan Gosling replaces him as one of three changes from a win at Swansea as forwards Josh King and Callum Wilson also start in place of Andrew Surman and Benik Afobe. Afobe is not in the squad as the Cherries haven't got clearance from DR Congo that he can miss the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bournemouth XI: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Ake, Daniels, Arter, Gosling, Stanislas, King, Fraser, Wilson.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger makes three changes from the win over Crystal Palace. Centre-back Shkodran Mustafi plus midfielders Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey come in for Gabriel, Mohamed Elneny and Lucas Perez. Playmaker Mesut Ozil is again sidelined.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Sanchez, Iwobi, Giroud.

He may have only lost five games but was sacked in February last year, despite the Rams being fifth in the Championship table.

I'd wager that he'd settle for losing five games from now until the end of the season.

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce: "Somewhere along the line Swansea will get a break but we hope it's not tonight.

"We need to play at our best to beat Swansea - to win any game in the Premier League.

"You tend to get a reaction with a new manager but we have to be better than them. I want the first win under my belt."

One to watch from behind the settee. Stoke were competitive at Chelsea - not many teams score two at Stamford Bridge. They were also competitive at Liverpool, but no matter how you look at it they have still conceded 10 goals in three games.

Watford simply did not turn up against Tottenham at Vicarage Road, a complete non-performance, and I can see nothing but more frustration for them here.

    Prediction: 2-0

Crystal Palace v Swansea (20:00 GMT)

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport Wales Online

The Swans are halfway through the season and have another 19 Premier League games to play with 57 more points available, but face Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City in their next five league games.

One thing Paul Clement will need to put in place is stability. After Francesco Guidolin's departure in October and Bob Bradley's unimpressive tenure, Clement will need to find his best side and fast.

In his 11 games in charge, Bradley played the same starting XI just twice - in their 1-1 draw with Everton and dramatic 5-4 win against Crystal Palace - with players in key positions coming in and out of the side during his reign.

Striker Benik Afobe adorns the cover of tonight's programme as his current side face the club where he came up through the academy ranks.

Afobe scored the opener in Saturday's 3-0 win at Swansea before withdrawing from the Democratic Republic of Congo's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in order to concentrate on his club.

As well as two league goals this season, arguably Afobe's most important "assist" for Bournemouth was helping to persuade his close friend Jack Wilshere to join the Cherries on loan from Arsenal. Wilshere is ineligible to face his parent club tonight.

The January transfer window is open for business, with Leicester already adding to their ranks.

But who do we expect to be on the move in the coming days? Who does your club need in - and who needs to ship out?

January is traditionally fairly quiet in terms of mega signings, but could this year be different?

  13. Fixtures are 'unbelievable' says Wengerpublished at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2017

    Bournemouth v Arsenal (19:45 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes the festive fixture list is the most "uneven" he has seen in 20 years.

Having beaten Crystal Palace on Sunday, Arsenal visit Bournemouth on Tuesday, while leaders Chelsea won on Saturday and are not in action until Wednesday.

"In 20 years it is the most uneven Christmas period I have seen on the fixture front," Wenger said.

"The difference of rest periods is absolutely unbelievable, compared to the other teams it is unbelievable."

Arsenal have won all four previous meetings with Bournemouth, including both games last season when the 2-0 scoreline on both occasions did not reflect the Gunners' dominance, with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings.

However, Arsene Wenger will know from a more fiercely contested 3-1 success at Emirates Stadium in November that he faces a Cherries side who have improved from their debut Premier League campaign, and have already beaten Everton and Liverpool here this season, while holding Spurs to a draw.

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce: "Our players need to get ready for Swansea on Tuesday night - that's the big game they need to win.

"Watching Premier League football this year, the top six are so much better than last year so it's always hard to pick up points against them. Our big game's on Tuesday, there's no doubt about it. We're going to survive by beating teams in the bottom half."

"Scorpion pun alert! The football world continues to marvel at Olivier Giroud's remarkable goal, but will there be a sting in the tail for Arsenal on the south coast?

"Bournemouth are having an excellent season. At the half-way stage they were 10 points clear of the relegation zone after their 3-0 win at Swansea, they'd won as many home games as Manchester City and Manchester United and were actually a little unlucky to lose 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium at the end of November.

"But if Arsenal harbour serious hopes of hauling in Chelsea, then they need to win this game and probably their next three league games before facing Antonio Conte's side on 4 February."

Paul Clement inherits a Swansea team with a serious defensive issue. Or five.

Under Bob Bradley the Swans shipped 29 goals in just 11 games and all season they have allowed 44 in. Woeful.

So priority one for Clement must be shutting up shop. But they have also only scored 21 goals in 19 games so far...

From the pictures I've seen of the team's arrival at Selhurst though it looks like caretaker Alan Curtis is in charge tonight.
