Villa's brightest moments have been when they get the ball in to Jonathan Kodija's feet and he has tried to make something happen. He needs some support.

They are starting to grind some results out and they need to show everyone they can overcome this Leeds team, who have been stubborn.

There is nothing wrong with coming to Villa Park and coming away with something. Villa have not been totally convincing in their defensive work.

With that, the players go off for half-time.

The quality level has been quite high at times, but the entertainment level has not.

Plenty for both managers to ponder at the break.

At the other end, Stuart Dallas tries a spectacular volley from the left edge of the area but his dipping effort goes harmlessly over the bar, prompting some whistles from Villa fans.

Five minutes have been added on at the end of the first half due to John Brayford's earlier injury.

Can the Millers halve the deficit before the interval?

Jonathan Kodjia twists and turns for Villa in the Leeds penalty area but, as he blasts the ball across goal from a tight angle, he can't pick out a teammate.

Leeds clear.

It's an interesting game. I'd like to see more quality in the final third from both teams. It's very competitive in the middle of the park and you've hardly got time to draw breath. You have to be alive and bright to what is going on around you. There is a lot of traffic and neither team are able to establish themselves in the final third. Perhaps in the second half players will find some space.
