  1. SUBSTITUTION (Villa)published at 50 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Jack Grealish can't continue and Villa's Ross McCormack comes on in his place.

Not a bad substitute in the Championship, eh? Someone who cost around £12m.

Grealish looks gutted as he trudges off down the touchline.

    Rotherham 1-2 Burton

We're a few minutes behind at the New York Stadium, but the second half has finally started.

Burton's Tom Flanagan has replaced John Brayford, who had a head injury in the first half but still managed an assist after.

As things stand bottom side Rotherham will end the evening 12 points adrift of their opponents, who started the night just one place above the relegation zone.

    The stakes are pretty high.

Midfielder Jack Grealish is down, feeling the back of his hamstring, perhaps?

That isn't a good sign for Villa, after he went down just before half-time.

We are still after your thoughts on the January window and who you want your club to sign.

John Hind has been in touch: "If York signed Messi. Suarez, Luiz, Hibbert and Cech they'd still struggle."

The poor old Minstermen are 23rd in the National League after suffering relegation from League Two last season.

But also, what have you made of the first 45 minutes? Let us know via #bbcefl on Twitter.

Rotherham fans, can you comeback after the break? That goal on the stroke of half-time must give you hope?

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2016

    Rotherham 1-2 Burton

Well, that game escalated rather quickly...

For 35 minutes the home side dominated, but Chris O'Grady scored his first goal in a long, long time to put Burton ahead.

It got even better as Jackson Irvine doubled their lead, but Tom Adeyemi's goal means Rotherham are still well in this.

Who said relegation battles were cagy?

  11. 'Kodjia needs support'published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2016

    HT: Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Villa's brightest moments have been when they get the ball in to Jonathan Kodija's feet and he has tried to make something happen. He needs some support.

They are starting to grind some results out and they need to show everyone they can overcome this Leeds team, who have been stubborn.

There is nothing wrong with coming to Villa Park and coming away with something. Villa have not been totally convincing in their defensive work.

We have a real game on our hands here.

Yes, Burton were fortunate to be ahead, but Nigel Clough will still be seething that his side have conceded a goal like that so close to the interval.

A Joe Newell free-kick is parried by Jon McLaughlin, and Tom Adeyemi is first on the scene to convert the rebound.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+4 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

With that, the players go off for half-time.

The quality level has been quite high at times, but the entertainment level has not.

Plenty for both managers to ponder at the break.

  14. Postpublished at 45+3 mins

At the other end, Stuart Dallas tries a spectacular volley from the left edge of the area but his dipping effort goes harmlessly over the bar, prompting some whistles from Villa fans.

    Rotherham 0-2 Burton

Five minutes have been added on at the end of the first half due to John Brayford's earlier injury.

Can the Millers halve the deficit before the interval?

  16. Postpublished at 45+3 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

Jonathan Kodjia twists and turns for Villa in the Leeds penalty area but, as he blasts the ball across goal from a tight angle, he can't pick out a teammate.

    Leeds clear.

  18. Postpublished at 44 mins

Jack Grealish is down, getting some treatment after a late tackle on the touchline from Leeds' Pontus Jansson.

I think he just had the wind knocked out of him.

They say you're at your most vulnerable after you've just scored - what a load of rubbish.

There was a lengthy delay following Burton's opener, as Brewers defender John Brayford had a head injury, but the visitors have doubled their lead almost immediately after the game restarted.

Having just picked himself off the floor, Brayford bursted forward and crossed for striker Jackson Irvine to crash a header home.

  20. 'Lots of traffic'published at 41 mins

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leeds

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It's an interesting game. I'd like to see more quality in the final third from both teams. It's very competitive in the middle of the park and you've hardly got time to draw breath. You have to be alive and bright to what is going on around you. There is a lot of traffic and neither team are able to establish themselves in the final third. Perhaps in the second half players will find some space.
