What a treat that was. A jam-packed evening of Premier League football with plenty of goals to boot.

That's it from us. Until next time, good night.

West Ham got a bit of luck. Their season has turned around a bit. They have had a bit of luck and are showing a bit of spirit.

  3. Arnautovic tackle 'definitely' a redpublished at 00:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2016

    Stoke 0-0 Southampton

    Alan Shearer
Ex-England captain on Match of the Day

Stoke City's Marko Arnautović was sent off in their 0-0 draw with Southampton for a high tackle. Here are Alan Shearer's thoughts...

It was definitely a red card.

I don't think anyone can argue. It was high, dangerous and mis-timed.

  4. 'Players struggling to understand what Pep wants'published at 23:59 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Man City 2-0 Watford

    Alan Shearer
Ex-England captain on Match of the Day

Guardiola got off to a great start but City have struggled of late.

Some players are finding it hard understanding what he wants of them. He keeps chopping and changing. He hasn't found a system that his players are comfortable with and that is showing.

  5. Pep criticism 'pathetic'published at 23:58 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Man City 2-0 Watford

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on MOTD

On Pep Guardiola criticism: "It's pathetic. So soon into a season. We wanted Pep to come to England and now we are trying to destroy him, I don't get it."

  6. 'Not convincing, but a big three points'published at 23:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Man City 2-0 Watford

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on MOTD

It was not about the performance tonight, it was about getting the result. They did not play at their fluent best but they did score a couple of really good goals.

It wasn't convincing, it was a bit of a nervous atmosphere at the Etihad today but it was an important three points.

    West Brom 3-1 Swansea

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on Match of the Day

The one thing you can say about Swansea is that they score goals but they have got a soft centre.

They need to start keeping clean sheets and being harder to beat.

  8. Postpublished at 23:47 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    West Brom 3-1 Swansea

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on MOTD

West Brom are having a phenomenal season.

Everyone says boring Tony Pulis but they have scored more goals than Manchester United. They are entertaining and playing well.

  9. 'Hull in big trouble'published at 23:41 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Tottenham 3-0 Hull

    Alan Shearer
Ex-England captain on Match of the Day

Hull had seven points after four games and now have 12 after 16 games. They have the worst defensive record in the league, they are in big trouble.

I don't think there is a problem with the players' attitude, just the quality. Spurs didn't have to get out of second gear to win.

  10. Postpublished at 23:38 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Tottenham 3-0 Hull

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on MOTD

I thought in the final third Tottenham were relying too much on Harry Kane. Eriksen has just started to hit form, we know he is a silky player and he is getting goals now. He has five goals in four games. Spurs need the likes of Lamela, Eriksen, Alli and Son to start providing a bit more and give Kane that bit of help.

It should have been a red card for Marcos Rojo.

We saw it against Everton and he got away with it. You cannot tackle like that. It would have changed the game completely.

  13. 'Zlatan is world class'published at 23:24 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Man Utd

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on MOTD

You talk about sports science and that you can only play one game a week but Zlatan Ibrahimovic plays every minute of every game for Manchester United. Phenomenal. I think he is world class.

  14. 'Keepers worth 12 points'published at 23:17 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

I think goalkeepers can be worth at least nine or 12 points at the end of the season.

Chelsea have eight clean sheets in 10 games.

We have spoken a lot about Costa, Hazard and Pedro but Thibaut Courtois has not had a big mention.

He played his part tonight with two unbelievable saves from Adnan Januzaj and Patrick van Aanholt.

Chelsea are full of confidence, have not disrupted the side too much and when one or two players come in you can't tell. It is so smooth.

  17. Class act Cescpublished at 23:12 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Sunderland 0-1 Chelsea

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on Match of the Day

In the three games Cesc Fabregas has been involved in he set up a goal for Diego Costa against Manchester City, had a hand in the goal against West Brom and scored the winner against Sunderland. It was a fantastic finish from a class player who has kept his head down and waited for the opportunity to come in.

  20. Lallana 'absolutely brilliant'published at 23:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

Alan Shearer was impressed with Adam Lallana's performance tonight after two goals and an assist...

Jurgen Klopp has given Lallana more license to roam and get forward.

He has six goals and six assists this season.

He wants to be involved and he was absolutely brilliant tonight, as he has been for large parts of this season.
