Meanwhile, League Two leaders Forfar Athletic host Annan Athletic looking to arrest their recent faltering form.

  2. Dip for the Donspublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (19:45)

Aberdeen are strong at home under Derek McInnes. They have lost only once on their own patch this term, going down by a solitary goal to Celtic.

A week ago, they hammered Kilmarnock 5-1 at Pittodrie, while on Saturday, St Johnstone fashioned the best of the few chances, but the Dons were able to keep a clean sheet.

Following a run of six wins on the bounce, Aberdeen's last eight games in all competitions have yielded only three victories.

  6. Accies approach?published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton (19:45)

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"If Hamilton go with three at the back, it might allow them to get more players in the faces of Celtic. Will they take risks in the middle of the park where Celtic really press and press?"

  7. Accies have fond memories toopublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton (19:45)

However, it's not all been doom and gloom for the Accies in this part of Glasgow.

In October 2014, Ali Crawford scored the only goal to send the South Lanarkshire side top of the table, in what was their first win at Celtic Park since 1938. The New York Times even published an article on their success soon after.

Crawford has been the main man for Hamilton this season, with seven league goals already.

  8. Hamilton eightsome reelingpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton Accies (19:45)

Hamilton could be forgiven for being apprehensive tonight since their last visit to Celtic Park did not go well at all.

On a Tuesday last January, the vidiprinter went into printing digits mode as Accies were blown away in an 8-1 loss, with Leigh Griffiths scoring a hat-trick.

The previous trip, in February 2015, ended in a 4-0 home victory.

  9. Steelmen blowing hot and coldpublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (19:45)

Motherwell opened the Premiership season with a win but have only managed maximum points on three more occasions since.

Mark McGhee's side have lost six of their last nine. One of those was a 4-3 thriller with Celtic when they were 2-0 and 3-2 up. That was followed by Saturday's 0-0 at home to Killie.

Hot, cold and somewhere in between, like so many Premiership teams this term.

  11. McGhee high hopes for youthpublished at 19:16 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (19:45)

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee on BBC Radio Scotland: "Aberdeen will be in good shape, but we will need to stop them.

"We will not be sitting off them and letting Aberdeen come on to us.

"It will be a real test for our young players, but if I've got a good enough young player, I put them in.

"We are fortunate we have an academy that is producing players that look like they are good enough."

  12. Can Accies make their point - again?published at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton Accies (19:45)

Accies have drawn a remarkable 10 of their 16 league games this season, including their last five.

Player-manager Martin Canning said on Monday that he would gladly make that six in a row at the home of the champions.

“A point on the road’s good and, if we can try to improve the home form, that’s what we’d be looking to try to do," he said.

“Obviously we know is going to be a difficult game. Celtic are playing well and we need to make sure we go there, defend properly, get close and compete.”

  13. Three Accies changespublished at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton Accies (19:45)

Hamilton player-boss Martin Canning makes three changes and it is hardly ideal for the visitors that they are without yet another defender - Danny Seaborne.

The forward looking Louis Longbridge and Alex D'Acol are dropped to the bench, with veteran former Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati coming into the side along with Daniel Redmond and Rakish Bingham.

  14. 'Teams are scared of Celtic'published at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton Accies (19:45)

Celtic have not lost a domestic fixture since manager Brendan Rodgers took over in the summer.

Eight points clear of Rangers in second, they've scored way more than everyone else despite playing two or three matches fewer than all of their top-flight rivals.

After netting in Friday's 4-1 win away to Partick Thistle, striker Leigh Griffiths talked with relish about the fear factor the champions are developing.

"Teams will be coming to Celtic Park fearing the worst and that's what we wanted at the start of the season," he said.

"Last season, teams were coming to Celtic Park and thinking they could get a result, but now teams are going to be scared by the way we are playing and we need to keep doing the same things."

    Aberdeen v Motherwell (19:45)

Both of these sides were involved in drab stalemates at the weekend, but the good news is that there have been goals in every game between this pair in the past three seasons. Indeed, both teams have been on target in the previous five encounters.

  17. Dembele and Griffiths to startpublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Celtic v Hamilton Accies (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Radio Scotland: "We can look at playing the two of them, but it is not just about the two players up front.

"They are both talented players, but I have to pick what I think is a balanced team and pick the best team to play the opposition - not just the best players."
