This is an unbelievable match. You have to give City credit, they've shown terrific character and Monaco have run out of legs. City are stronger physically and mentally and Monaco are looking round feeling sorry for themselves.

    Leroy Sane (82 mins)

Monaco, you are an absolute shambles at the back! If you had a vote for worst defending of the night it would be hard to call.

David Silva lifts a ball over the top and Manchester City have three men in on the keeper. Sergio Aguero rolls it to Leroy Sane and he fires into an open net!

Yet another booking. Fabinho leans on Leroy Sane and goes in the book, I think that's 10...

  4. Football League updatepublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

Newport have some work to do as Michael Rose has equalised for Morecambe after 64 minutes in the League Two clash. The Exiles have played well tonight but they will not want to settle for a point given their position at the bottom of the table.

Former Gills star Andy Barcham has also equalised for Wimbledon with an accurate low strike. There was no celebration from the winger as he levels the scores in League One.

  5. CLOSE!published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Bayer Leverkusen 2-3 Atletico Madrid

Goals flying in in Manchester and we almost had a sixth in Germany.

Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez - and the home faithful at the BayArena - think they have an equaliser, but the Mexican's shot is brilliantly knocked off the line by the scrambling Filipe Luis.

Steve Howes: Has there ever been 2 worse defending teams than these 2 in the CL?

Aleks B: I am done! I don't know how to feel. Great attacking football. But must we do the roller-coaster??

    Richard: What a ridonkulous game.

    Manchester City 4-3 Monaco

You've got to laugh at times. What is Kamil Glik doing for Monaco? He's the last man in yet another overload and he dives into a challenge 35 yards from goal. He somehow gets away with it but it's wild defending.

And entirely in keeping with this game.

    Manchester City 4-3 Monaco

City lead for the first time since 1-0 and they aren't done yet. They get in again down the left but this time Kevin de Bruyne miscues a cross straight at Danijel Subasic.

    It's basically a 5-a-side game.

It's a decent ball in and they're queuing up. You've got to give City credit. At times we think they're out of the game but they keep coming back and keep responding.

    John Stones (77 mins)

    Ridiculous!

Kevin de Bruyne whips in a corner. Yaya Toure nods it on and John Stones dives in to take a hat-trick from the toe of Sergio Aguero's boot and put City back ahead.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 3-3 Monaco

Bernardo Silva is booked for a cynical tug on Kevin de Bruyne, that's the eighth yellow of the game I think.

    Still 15 to go.

These two sides should play the best of 35 legs, like the Crucible final. I'd watch them all.

I said 4-4 earlier and I might just be right for once.

It's one of those nights. It's a crazy night.

  15. Championship updatepublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

Conor Washington remains the only player to score in the Championship since the half-time break. He's given QPR a 2-1 lead over Wigan but Derby vs Burton and Huddersfield vs Reading are still goalless.

Brentford lead 2-0 at Hillsborough despite the loss of injured midfielder Josh McEachran. It's been an encouraging performance from The Bees given they have failed to score in their last three visits here.

  16. 'Terrible defending'published at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 3-3 Monaco

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

Give Aguero credit, he's alive, he's alert. Everyone misses it, he reads it right and it's a good volley into the bottom corner. Terrible defending but the goalkeeper had no chance.

These two teams are exciting going forward but can't win the tournament with that defending.

GOAL - Manchester City 3-3 Monacopublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Sergio Aguero (71 mins)

The sort of game that has Alan Hansen taking his television into the garden and setting it alight. Again you can question the defending - let's be frank, it's rubbish - but let's marvel in the finish from Sergio Aguero, who meets a corner with a cracking volley from 12 yards into the bottom corner.

How Aguero is allowed to meet a volley there without someone getting a challenge in is a question for later...

Still 20 minutes to go, plus 90 in Monte Carlo. Both sides still look like they can't defend for toffee as Kevin de Bruyne's cross skids through the penalty area and away. More goals in this.

  19. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 2-3 Monaco

ANOTHER penalty appeal waved away for Manchester City, Raheem Sterling goes down under pressure but it's waved on.

Monaco then attack, Kylian Mbappe leaves Pablo Zabaleta for dead and fires into the side netting.

Seen it again - never a penalty.

Kelvin Yip: Can't put it away from the spot but that was just an absolutely filthy finish from Falcao. John Stones with another stinker.

Matt Robinson: Falcao has given United fans more to cheer about tonight than he did in 12 months when he played for us.

Boniface: Falcao is a "killer" striker. Pep was absolutely right!
