    Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 Atletico Madrid

Having conceded at one end, Atletico Madrid almost pull two clear again.

It is striker Kevin Gameiro who rattles the angle of post and crossbar with a left-footed shot having found space inside the area.

Remember, the Frenchman scored a hat-trick in less than five minutes at the weekend.

He waited and tried to be clever. A little stutter like people do and it was a comfortable, easy save for Caballero. That was a great chance for Monaco.

    DREADFUL!

My word that is an awful penalty from Radamel Falcao. He stutters his run up and then passes it, Gareth Southgate style, two thirds of the way across. It's an easy save for Willy Caballero. And the latest in a list of 'turning points.'

I think the additional assistant behind the goal has given it. He's caught him from behind and I think he's got it right.

Nicolas Otamendi is the wrong side of Radamel Falcao, he slides through him and while it looks like he gets away with it the official behind the goal gives the penalty...

  7. YELLOW CARD - Sterling NOT bookedpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 1-2 Monaco

Confusion here so let's clear it up. We were told in the first half that Raheem Sterling was booked and would miss the second leg, it now turns out that he wasn't.

    As you were.

  8. League Two latestpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

Newport will be extremely pleased with their start at Rodney Parade. They lead Morecambe 1-0 after Aaron Williams put them in front.

They haven't picked up a victory since their 3-1 win against Hartlepool last month and they were seven points from safety in League Two at the start of play. A victory tonight would certainly give them a huge boost.

    Karim Bellarabi (48 mins)

What a start to the second half for Bayer Leverkusen!

Benjamin Henrichs puts a ball back from the right and Karim Bellarabi sweeps it into the far corner, didn't try to blast it, just placed it.

    Lovely.

Away we go then. If the second half is anything like the first half we could have a bag full of goals still to come.

Manchester City need to stay in the game.

I'm pretty sure Nicolas Otamendi gave up on the ball for Monaco's second goal. I'm not sure if he expected Willy Caballero to come and deal with it.

City still have the same frailties.

  16. Half-time in the Championhippublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

Sheffield Wednesday's dismissed penalty shout will haunt them at half-time as Brentford have capitalised on a shaky start from Carlos Carvalhal's side. They lead 2-0.

It's still goalless in the big third v fourth battle between Huddersfield and Reading but the Royals had two opportunities to go in front before Al-Habsi was called upon to save Van La Parra's spot-kick.

Elsewhere, it remains 1-1 between QPR and Wigan, with goals from Smith and Bogle in the early stages.

Steven Gerrard called that second Monaco goal 'catastrophic' from City's point of view, which is immensely satisfying to say in a Liverpool accent.

    Try it.

Paul Collins: Problem with the 'Pep Way' - it's like a Swiss watch - works well when you have the right parts, expensive to fix if you don't.

Matt Williams: And everyone gave Arsenal a hard time a few years ago for losing at home to Monaco... English teams lacking quality in Europe.

Loser92: Falcao looks a hell of a lot fitter tonight than he ever did during his ill-fated stints in Manchester and London.

Agubata Odinaka: Martial who? I think Man Utd bought the wrong teenage sensation. What a player!!!
