  1. Falcao shows his classpublished at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

That was a touch of Falcao in his pomp - outmuscling John Stones before delivering the most audacious lofted finish over Willy Caballero. World class.

But what about Stones? Shocking defending as he went to ground and was dispossessed too easily.

The finish though - as the French commentator behind me screamed: "Formidable...formidable....formidable." And it was.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 2-3 Monaco

Sergio Aguero gets past one man but is then stopped in his tracks by a fine tackle. That is not a fine tackle by Radamel Falcao, late on John Stones and he goes in the book.

He should have had a hat-trick of course, if you take that woeful penalty into the equation.

  3. League One updatepublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

Jason Demetriou's first goal for the club is the only thing separating Southend and their opponents Peterborough in League One. They aren't the only home side trailing either as Oxford still lead Charlton 1-0 at the Valley through an early Conor McAleny strike.

It's still goalless between Millwall and Chesterfield but Gillingham are leading 2-1 despite going a goal down against AFC Wimbledon in the 17th minute.

Gavin: All I can say is thank you @Everton, external for rejecting @ChelseaFC, external £40m bid for Stones. Helped us dodge a bullet!

Quint Marshall: Falcao shouldn't take penalties....but when fully fit as he is now he is a goalscorer of the highest quality.

Stavros Makrozachopo: Those who have put in the same sentence the words world class defending and John Stones should feel a little funny by now.

    Stefan Savic (OG 68 mins)

It's catching, even ex-Manchester City defenders are getting in on the act. In fairness there's not much Stefan Savic can do as goalkeeper Miguel Moya pushes a cross into his body and in.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

    Manchester City 2-3 Monaco

Pablo Zabaleta has come on for Manchester City. He'll probably end up scoring from 30 yards, the way this game has gone. He's replaced Fernandinho.

Still somehow there is half an hour to go. We've seen more incidents in an hour than an episode of 24.

I can't believe Falcao has the legs on John Stones. That is one of the best finishes I've ever seen in my life. Look where he's chipped the goalie from. That is quality. People might think it looks easy but that was so hard to do.

    Radamel Falcao (61 mins)

What a finish! Can these two play every week please?!

Nobody can defend. John Stones is rolled by Radamel Falcao, who gets inside the penalty area and somehow chips Willy Caballero from about 15 yards out!

There was no space to do that. How did he get that up and over?! Absolutely brilliant.

A magnificent finish from a wonderful player who bombed in both of his spells in the Premier League.

Well I don't know what the goalkeeper was doing. It's a great counter and Sterling does ever so well. Goalkeeper has an absolute nightmare. He puts his knee down and misses it, straight through his hands. Absolutely shocking. That's like a Sunday morning goal.

    Sergio Aguero (58 mins)

    HOWLER!

If you thought Willy Caballero's error in the first half was bad you ain't seen nothing yet! Raheem Sterling slides a pass down the side for Sergio Aguero to run on to, he doesn't have an option so shoots from the angle from 25 yards, but it's a routine save for Danijel Subasic.

Well, it should be. Somehow the Monaco keeper lets it through him and in. Aguero's first goal in seven. Game and tie on.

City need to regroup for a minute and realise they have been given a second life by that penalty miss. Still goals in this game, as Kevin de Bruyne bends a dream free-kick across the goalmouth and just wide.

It's an interesting, end-to-end game. Monaco take control for five minutes and you think they're going to go on, then they lose possession and City burst forward.

  16. PENALTY TO ATLETICOpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

The official behind the goal is in the spotlight again as Kevin Gameiro is pulled back by Aleksandar Dragovic, it's outside the box though and a yard in front of the official!

    Manchester City 1-2 Monaco

City fans, incensed at the penalty they didn't get in the first half and the one they conceded in the second, are in fine voice now.

Nicolas Otamendi is being run ragged by Kylian Mbappe, and he makes a gutsy challenge again inside the penalty area.

Could City survive conceding three away goals?

  20. Football League latestpublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2017

The second halves are under way at Pride Park and the John Smith Stadium, with both of those Championship games goalless.

Huddersfield and Reading have had a feisty encounter so far but it's at Derby where you'd expect the next goal to come.

Steve McClaren's side have conceded nine goals in their last three home games and Burton have scored five in as many matches.
