Richard Mark Bradley‏: Typical Boro. Finally have a shot on target and Claudio Bravo remembers how to make a save.

Free-kick to Manchester City. Kevin De Bruyne whips it in to the near post and Yaya Toure is free but powers a header wide of the post.

  4. GOOD SAVE!published at 35 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City are having great success in the wide positions, and David Silva, on the right wing, has time to take a shot at goal.

Luckily for the hosts, the effort is deflected and Brad Guzan does well to keep it out.

Middlesbrough's Rudy Gestede's game is already over, but now you can watch his two chances from earlier in the first half.

  6. CHANCEpublished at 32 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City

Middlesbrough are living dangerously. David Silva, who scored the first, is free close to the dead-ball line but his low cross misses his team-mates. Moments later, Leroy Sane has a chance but scuffs his shot and it is held by Brad Guzan.

The tricky Sane then jinks past two Middlesbrough defenders in the penalty area before Ben Gibson gets in front of Raheem Sterling to clear the danger. City look in the mood for more goals.

Manchester City started at a high tempo and looked like they were going to dominate but to give Middlesbrough some credit, they have really stepped up and it's now a very even game.

Bad news for Middlesbrough. Rudy Gestede has been a handful for the City defence but his game is over early. He needs treatment on his lower back and has to limp off.

Alvaro Negredo, a former Manchester City striker, is the man who comes on, to a warm reception from fans around the ground.

It might not be pretty at times but they have got to keep getting that ball in the box.

When they play deep they make it very easy for Manchester City.

Nearly a howler from Claudio Bravo. Middlesbrough's Rudy Gestede meets a corner and heads at goal. It should be routine for the goalkeeper but he fumbles the ball, before it bounces off of Pablo Zabaleta on the goalline to save Bravo's blushes.

Moments later Gestede heads just over the top. Better from the visitors.

Marten de Roon, who scored a dramatic equaliser when the sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Premier League in November, has a sniff of a chance, from Rudy Gestede's knockdown, but shoots well wide.

Leroy Sane couldn't be at a better place to develop than Manchester City. He's only 21 and he has got uncle Yaya to help him along the way.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City are great to watch on the counter-attack and it nearly becomes 2-0. Kevin De Bruyne releases Leroy Sane, who is too quick for Antonio Barragan.

Sane does not know whether to shoot or cross for Sergio Aguero, and in effect does neither with the ball played too far in front of Aguero, who would have had a tap-in.

Moments later Barragan gets a booking. It could be a tough afternoon for the Spaniard.

If Traore had a final touch he would play for Barcelona but until he has that, he will always be a player opponents are wary of but never really threatens.

Middlesbrough's Adama Traore is one of those players that must drive managers and fans crazy.

So much pace and trickery, so wasteful with the final ball. He gets free on the right wing and sends in a cross, which goes harmlessly out of play.
