    Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City

So what have Middlesbrough got? Adam Clayton, against the team where he began his career, runs into a number of City defenders on the edge of the penalty area, in a rare attack from the home side.

At the other end, Gael Clichy's cross is deflected behind for a City corner, which comes to nothing.

It's an all-too-simple goal. There were three Manchester City players lining up to score that. It was a gift from the home side.

Middlesbrough have got to push higher up the field or this could be a cricket score.

They have barely come out of the dressing room yet.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City

A shocking start from the hosts. They've hardly had a kick and now they are behind. Some woeful defending leaves Pablo Zabaleta free at the back post and he is able to cross low into the box.

Raheem Sterling can't get there, but David Silva can and he shoots City ahead from six yards out.

A bright start for the visitors, as Leroy Sane sends in a low cross from the left wing, but it is just behind Kevin de Bruyne.

Middlesbrough v Manchester City (12:15 GMT)

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola seems to be a man under pressure. The Manchester City boss has admitted it will not be a good season if he does not win anything.

He said: "If I have no silverware, I will not be here for a long time. No silverware - it will not be a good season. Being a manager depends on results. I know what's on my shoulders and I have to handle that.

"I would like to see my team playing better at the end of the season than at the beginning. It is good that the players in the last month have shown how close they are and what good team spirit they have. But I know we will be judged on the titles we have won.

"My period in Munich was judged like a disaster because we were not able to win the Champions League. I won three leagues in a row, we won two cups from three, we arrived every time in the semi-finals and finals, (but) it was (judged) a disaster."

    Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough may well be in the relegation zone, but boss Aitor Karanka is still looking at the positives.

"It can be amazing especially to realise how good a moment we are living. When someone tells me we are in an awful situation, for me, to be in the Premier League, to be in the quarter-finals, is an amazing situation," said Karanka.

"It's true that we are in the relegation positions, but it is the first time we have been in that position since the league started. For a team like us, we knew that was going to happen. We just have to try to win and show everybody that we are in a really good moment."

  19. 'Boro will need to reach new levels'published at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

Middlesbrough v Manchester City (12:15 GMT)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

The midweek league draw at home to Stoke has only increased the importance of the FA Cup if Pep Guardiola wants to mark his first season in England with silverware.

He has the opportunity to lead Manchester City into their first semi-final in four seasons, before heading to Monaco to try and cement a place in the last eight of the Champions League.

Having been frustrated by Mark Hughes' team on Wednesday, City will face a similar task against Middlesbrough.

However, the FA Cup has provided the only positive moments for Boro since the turn of the year and they will need to reach new levels for that to continue at the Riverside.

  20. A busy day in League Two too...published at 11:41 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

Leaders Doncaster face Cheltenham and bottom-of-the-table Newport County take on Crewe Alexandra.

An interesting fixture - when the Exiles threw a teenage Michael Flynn out of their youth academy for defying club rules, he feared he would spend his life doing his part-time job, stacking shelves in the local supermarket.

Four hundred Football League games later, however, Flynn will lead the team to Crewe today as their manager  after the sacking of Graham Westley,  albeit with the club teetering on the edge of being relegated back to non-league.

Follow that, and the rest of League Two's fixtures here.
