Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle
Big chance for the Jags as the powerful Ade Azeez steams through and shoots with the outside of his right boot, when a swing with the left might have been better, and Craig Gordon is able to touch it into the side-netting.
From the corner, Liam Lindsay is penalised for some climbing.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

All of Partick Thistle's intrepidness was undone by a moment of carelessness. Scott Sinclair's clipped finish for the opening goal was excellent, but he was unchallenged as he met Liam Henderson's free-kick cut-back. Celtic are now finding their passing rhythm, and trying to stretch the Thistle defence and midfield with their movement on and off the ball. For the visitors, hope resides in the scurrying and inventiveness of Ryan Edwards and the powerful running of Ade Azeez up front.

The Premiership's bottom club have gone six games without a win. it's going to take something special to avoid making it seven.

Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound
"Roberts and Sinclair are both cutting in from the wings and playing in a triangle with Dembele. The Thistle central midfielders will need to keep an eye on that."
Celtic 0-0 Partick Thistle
Ade Azeez hares after a ball over the top from Ziggy Gordon and the Thistle striker hammers in a shot from a tight angle that Craig Gordon keeps out and there are no visiting players alive to the loose ball. An early scare for the home side.
Celtic 0-0 Partick Thistle
Jozo Simunovic is caught dithering on the ball by Ryan Edwards but the Thistle midfielder cannot take advantage of a bad slip from the Celtic defender as he shoots tamely at goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

The rain is falling heavily, the pitch is slick, so it's a night for composure and concentration at Celtic Park.
Both sides will face a similar challenge in trying to play their game in the conditions, but Partick Thistle will also expect to be pinned back early on. Celtic have made eight changes to the starting line up and although the attention is drawn to 18-year-old Calvin Miller coming into the side at left-back, Brendan Rodgers has also brought back Scott Brown, Scott Sinclair, Patrick Roberts and Moussa Dembele, all rested and fresh to provide the impetus the Celtic manager demands from his side.
This is a stark challenge for Partick Thistle.

So, what about the recent meeting at Firhill?
It was a rather one-sided affair with Celtic scoring two goals early in the second half to lead 3-0 before running out 4-1 winners.
Thistle manager Alan Archibald said yesterday: "Every game is different. The players know what they did in the game, the things they did poorly and if we can rectify them, it gives us a chance."
